@canes4life You're right, and its because Otago lack ball carriers that can get in behind the Canterbury defence, hence why they just biff it wide and hope which suits the Canterbury defensive structure.

Why the chip kick when you can try to spread it out wide with the advantage called?
Are they afraid of Canterbury's defense?

Otago is just so poor at finishing .Camping in 22's not getting anything away from it.

@stargazer you’re not wrong, Canterbury just look poorly coached and far too many mistakes from both sides. It feels like all Otago have to do is control the pill and they should get the job done here.

Jeez if Richie Mo’unga gets injured for the Crusaders, Burke really doesn’t look like an able replacement, he’s been really average for Canterbury this year.

@canes4life Not saying Burke is a great 10, but considering the entire Canterbury squad have been pretty average this year, I think the problem lies more with the coaches than with the players.

One player that has really stood out for me is Sam Gilbert.

Must say this has been the most biased commentary stint I have heard from anyone in a long long time. Take a bow Jeff Wison.

Very average game of rugby, but the best team certainly won. Canterbury are barely a mid table championship side these days.

Haha, Wilson saying Otago was outstanding in the 2nd half. No they weren't. All their points in the 2nd half came from penalties. With another ref, Canterbury might have had a penalty in the final minutes of the game and the result would have been different.

Otago looked so much better with Arscott at halfback. You can tell that he has modelled his passing on Smith.

@african-monkey Yeah, they need to sack their coaches or they'll face relegation next year. They're lucky there's no relegation this year.

    I’ll take the points

The best thing to take from it is smart rugby, took the points and then played the clock at the end
