Maxwell on the subcontinent maybe? He seems like a guy who still very much has his eye on tests & one good 4 test tour to India might be all it takes.
-

I think they'll give him time (well as much as you can in Oz cricket).

His bowling as the 4th seamer is the goods and it allows the favoured balance of 3 quicks and Lyon. He's got the raw ingredients, as you said, of Watto and they gave him a lot of opportunities.

One thing all the successful teams have taught us is if you think they've got the real mental and physical talent, then perservere. e.g. Steve Smith

Interesting listening to cricketers commentate, Punter, KP, Flintoff etc they're flaberghasted that the public laymen bag Watto, they see him as a pretty much auto selection and opposition feared and rated him
-

Watson was unlucky in that he was an outstanding prospect at 6 but got moved up to open / 3 because of Aussie issues. You feel the thing they will do with Marsh is give him time as you say, but also not fuck him about moving him all over as they did with Watson.
-
Kane to nab BMacs high score....

Surely people do rate Watson but just like mocking him? I would rate Watson not too far behind Flintoff in terms of value to a team.
-

Just need someone to hang around with him. Hopefully its watling as I get that feeling that Southee isnt the man for the job
-

We keep you here for your cricketing insight JK.

I was impressed with Anderson towards the end of yesterday - did what he had to do to survive. He needs to show that he is more than just a clunker of the ball.

The ball that got Guptill wasn't even a challenging delivery, outside off coming in on the angle - Guppy just seemed to be late getting there, it was almost catching practice.

Hard to see NZ getting a lead of over 100 unfortunately but we can dream ....
-

I was going to write something cheeky too but am glad I didn't as that made me laugh
-

wouldn't we be more like Aus. given neither Ireland or Scotland have beaten the ABs' and Wallabies do so from time to time also, as have the Black Caps, we look shit hot against most other teams but when the heat comes on and it matters, neither the Wallabies or BCs can make that next step.

No that's a really dumb analogy, the Wallabies have won the WC twice. Black Caps never have.
-

I've always thought Pakistan and France were the most comparable.....volatile brilliant players who can smash the best but also get a hiding from the worst.
