Yeah but the BC's ended up bowling on the first day of both tests, and still couldn't get anything happening.

They had Aus 8- 2 in Wellington and 21-1 here.

The fact that the NZ tail has scored well in both of NZ's first innings (our No11 Boult got scores of 24 and 14no) suggests that the baking hot sun we have been having in NZ this summer changed the pitches nature after the first session.

Yeah, we have been outplayed but there's no doubt Aus have had by far the best of the bowling conditions.

Put it this way. We win the toss, it's a cloae game. We lose the toss, we likely get pumped. Aus the superior team but losing the toss has badly hurt our chances of getting a win.

you'd of thought given BMacs ability with the bat, he'd of liked to have bowed out with the bat in his hand, rather than likely spending his last moments as BCs captain in the field, but again, losing the toss took that away from him.

Isnt rain a chance of having a say in this test?

Well that and the fact that Boult would be a 9 in many teams. We may have given the world Chris Martin but BCs as a whole have always batted well down the order.

Rain was the forecast last night, but the radar looks mainly clear of rain and just an overcast day ahead.

ah just the weatherman this morning said there was a chance of rain that might affect the test...but then weathermen and Met Service in NZ are notoriously accurate!

The two aussies that are visiting to the team are fantastic. The can take good stick and give it too.

The Doull, Styris and non AB aussie are excellent as a three

Herb seems to be playing very much within himself - strike rate of only about 25. Good stuff.

The Kanetrain going well, lets hope these two keep knocking off little targets, getting through to lunch unscathed will be the priority now.

That was actually the argument of a caller to Radio Sport this morning - he's convinced the only way the Aussies can get early reverse swing is through tampering. He sounded like an older, even angrier version of former regular caller to Radio Sport, Zane "They've got rocks in their head" Loonybin.

Let's do a whip around and offer Wasim or Waqar a bowling coach gig. Surely living in clean, green NZ is more appealing than Pakistan ?

If I remember correctly, they were both caught on the beach in the West Indies enjoying some green material. Perhaps we could provide them with the best weed the Coromandel has to offer?

One for that Stats nerds.

For a test average of 50 Kane needs:

160 if he gets out

or

110 not out (which he'll piss in if he's not out in this innings)

PS - Jinx fairy, this is NOT a jinx!!!!!!
