Great news that Razor has managed to keep Barrett. I'm sure the hurricanes would have tried pretty hard to lure him up there.
I went to a speech he gave earlier this year.. he put up a few inspirational pics at the start of crusaders past victories, his family, captain Whitelock etc.
One of the pics was of Scott Barrett... he explained that he put that one up because unlike Jordie, he decided to stay and was rewarded with a super rugby title. his next words were ... "but don't worry, I'll get Jordie back"

Haven't seen this posted anywhere, but Ofa Tu'ungafasi has re-signed with NZ Rugby, the Blues and Auckland until 2021.

@taniwharugby Shit, someone put some effort into that.

So the rebels snuck past the brumbles and the bulls past the shorks

I created a little spreadsheet that pulls data from superxv and like to open it up after each round. thought I'd share some of it:
NZ conference by far the most successful, with SA and Aus on par if you disregard the Sunwolves/Jaguares. Strangely Aus ahead of SA on head to head, but fall short against NZ comp. Begs the question as to why they cannot win a game vs NZ since they seem to be on par with the SA teams.
Rugby is a funny game.

Fuck the press are muppets, it's impossible for the canes and Saders to meet in the final, they'll be ranked first and fourth (unless we have many massive major upsets) so will send up in the semis together, if they both win their quarters. Makes you realise how much bollox it published under the heading of news

@machpants I think it's because SANZAAR has made some unexplained changes.
This is from the SANZAAR website:
2017 Finals draw:
2018 Finals draw:
Changes:
QF1: 1 v 8 in 2017, this year: 1 v 8
QF2: 2 v 7 in 2017, this year: 4 v 5
QF3: 3 v 6 in 2017, this year: 2 v 7
QF4: 4 v 5 in 2017, this year: 3 v 6And semis:
SF1: Winner QF1 v Winner QF4 in 2017, this year: Winner QF1 v Winner QF2
SF2: Winner QF2 v Winner QF3 in 2017, this year: Winner QF3 v Winner QF4.
If they hadn't changed a thing, the result would have been the same (a possible Canes v Saders SF - not Final), but I can see how these changes may confuse people.

this year: Winner QF1 v Winner QF2
So Saders (assuming they beat Jags) vs Canes (assuming they beat Landers)
They've just renumbered them, not changed the format, I think? Shouldn't really confuse someone that much!
But good old SANZAAR a change is as good as a rest! Even if for no reason.

Yep - exactly - the same format after Q-Finalists are decided, just given the QFs different numbers/names.
Coz... somebody's "simple friend" got confused by it before? -
The big change is only in deciding position 4 due to one less conference. It means that positions 4-8 are now on table points.
I don't get why they didn't rank 1-3 on table points. You still get a 1-3 ranking on conference win irrespective of how shit the conference was.
Under my tweak we would currently see1 Crusaders v 8 Jaguares
4 Tahds v 5 Highlanders
2 Canes v 7 Rebels
3 Lions v 6 Chiefs -

Aren't the top conferences teams ranked 1,2 and 3 ?
So it could be :1 Crusaders vs 8 Jaguares / Sharks
4 Canes vs 5 Highlanders
2 Lions vs 7 Rebels
3 Tahs vs 6 ChiefsAs above. That is the current situation.
My way is to still give the conference winner a home semi but rank in order of table points. -
Is this the place where we get together to laugh at the Reds?

@mariner4life and applaud the Sunwolves.
