@Stargazer good to see Watt go, they need a fresh approach.

Ma'a Nonu isn't missing the hype of being an All Black during the Rugby World Cup in Japan, as he enjoys being a stay at home dad for the last few months.
The 37-year-old says the freedom from rugby won't last too long as he will be lacing up next season, but he is not giving away any secrets of where that might be.
Nonu played for the Blues this year and was an outside chance for selection for a third World Cup, but missed out. He said he's enjoyed the freedom and time with the family - dropping the kids off at school and spending as much as time as he can with them.
It's a short holiday before he announces his playing future, he says.
"Should be out soon in a couple of months, so I am not anytime soon hanging up my boots.
"It's been a great couple of months, I've been that stay at home dad taking them to school. . . it's been good family time and I think all parents who get to take the time should take the opportunity to do that."

I wonder if he is doing one last hoorah with the Canes?
-
@Canes4life Should have played for the Chiefs this year then Crusaders next year to complete the rounds.
-
For who hasn't read it in the Hurricanes 2020 thread:
Utility back James Marshall has re-signed with the Hurricanes for 2020.
Loosie Murphy Taramai has also signed with the Canes for 2020.
-
Media release: Rob Penney appointed NSW Waratahs Head Coach
Penney has signed a three-year deal with NSW Rugby.
-
Does anyone know this player? Is this signing a loss to NZ rugby?

Premium article shit. This player any good?

@Yeetyaah Nothing on the Blues website (yet). Franchises must be desparate if they sign a 29-year-old for - what I assume is - his first SR contract.
Edit: Google tells me he played one game for BOP in 2017. He was first named in the Steamers' squad in 2018. If the stats that I found are correct, he has played 17 Mitre 10 Cup games, of which 13 starts.
He has trained with the Chiefs (in 2018, don't know about 2019).
No doubt, BOP supporters on the Fern will be able to tell us more about him?

@Stargazer My nephew plays for the Sydney Rays in the Aussie NRC and I sort of watch most of their games that are streamed live on https://www.rugby.com.au/competitions/nrc but can't really honestly give my opinion as I really only see how the nephew is going. Will try to watch with more interest when they play the Western Force this Saturday afternoon (or at least for the first half hour as the Magpies v Ta$man match obviously takes precedence from 2.25pm onward). Suffice to say that he must have spent a lot of time standing behind his try line contemplating life as his Sydney team has had a couple of hammerings and currently has a negative points difference eighty after conceding 280 points in their six games so far and they still have to play the top of the table team who are also the leading points scoring team!

@Stargazer IIRC Wardlaw played the full 80 mins in the Battle of the Bays.
Edit: The locks in the Chiefs Dev team were Aaron Carroll (Bay of Plenty) and Damon Leasuasu (Counties Manukau) along with Laghlan McWhannell (Waikato) from the main squad.

@Stargazer can recall Charlie Gamble as one of the outstanding number 7s at the National under 19 tournament playing for Canterbury in 2015 ,in fact he actually won the MVP for for the outstanding player of the tournament, has build similar to David Pocock ,has been playing the shutte shield in NSW..
From what I remember, was outstanding on turn over ball.. -

@Daffy-Jaffy And this tweet is confirming it:

This confirms a conversation I had with a friend who works for Sky, I suspect Mitre 10 cup could be a casualty of costs ..

If that's the case then NZR needs a bullet. Unless they've sold it separately, they need to have bundled it together, right at the the time they had a bit of leverage over Sky - let Sky figure out how to make it work financially.

How much can the NPC be worth though? Must be a losing entity
