and here i was thinking they would be in full bubble mode in their hotel incase the game had to be played behind closed doors because of the cases in QLD or something
Nah. There’s basically no restrictions up there and there won’t be until after Sunday night at the earliest. Bring in
I’m glad the Qld govt hasn’t locked it down, but they have had short lockdowns, several times this year mind you, for a lot less cases.
“It brings a lot of money into the state”
yeah, i get the state doesn't have restrictions/lockdowns, just thought these touring teams might have been a bit more cautious
The travelling to Byron was bad judgment, but no need for a hotel bubble or too be that cautious in my view. Everyone up there is living normal. Shops open, go to the beach, gather in groups. No need for the players to be cooped up in their hotel rooms. I’d imagine most if not all are vaccinated too.
All blacks are double jabbed, but last thing said they are bubble hotel and training. Maybe precautionary?

Great move by Montoya - why the fuck turn up again for a pasting and a running argument with the ref?
Byron's nicer than anywhere they've been in QLD anyway so might as well sit out the week.
"Ay carumba - sorry amigos I didn't realise there was a border here!"
(Big fucking sign in the background stating in no uncertain terms you're not allowed into the Palace Chook's swamp unless you do quarantine)

'I thought it was where the captain's photo was being re shot?'
Lol he still won't be in it

That’s the most stateist comment you’ve ever medium on here.
Byron’s a bit of an overcrowded crap hole these days Sotheby’s ah as wok have just saved on the GC.
Edit: iPad autocorrect fucked that sentence. 🤣 So may as well have just stayed on the GC is what I was trying to say.

@act-crusader Covid policy is all over the place at the moment. 1000+ daily cases but they still have hotel quarantine for the 750 people allowed in per week. Strict lockdown in Sydney. Complete freedom up the road.
Half the country is still gunning for zero-covid while the other half are about to open up and let 'er rip.
And each state leader is taking a different tack to score some brownie points with their constituents.

Do you live in Sydney? The lockdown is not very strict currently.

Classic.
Byron hinterland is nice. Haven't been into town for years but the areas around it are still good because there is enough space away from other fuckers.
