@canes4life Are you going to the game? I hope to get there (maybe even at Lyndhurst Park for the Under 19s on Saturday as well) but sadly my HB playing jersey has either been hidden by flatmates (Wgtn supporters obviously) or left up in Napier when I was home for a month or so just before the latest lockup. Still I have got a polo shirt down here but it really just is not the same as a playing jersey.
I thought we couldn’t go because of Level 2? As for HB being underdogs are the TAB not aware that Wellington have lost horribly the last couple of years when playing you
I had forgotten about that and there is no way you can jump the back fence like you used to be able to on Morris Street behind the McLean Park Bank that you could use in the old days pre the razor wire there now, or Richard Turner's grandfather's back fence if all else failed!!!!
Might have to see if I can wangle some players guest passes to get past the security on the gates to enable me to do my patriotic duty..

Wellington look so unfit. This number 8 looks overweight as hell.
I’ve probably never seen a worse Wellington team than right now.
-
Hawkes Bay defence has been superb
-
@canes4life lions far too individual

@nepia looks like they came together yesterday. Absolutely no urgency at all.
Their performance is a reflection of the wider organisation as a whole.
Hopefully it continues into the second half.

Hoping that the Hurricanes coaching staff can finally open their eyes and recognise that their best loose head prop is Pouri Rakete Stones ..
Numia & Fidow are getting owned and yet they are always part of the match day 23 when Canes teams are selected.
Great to see former Northland boy Namatahi Waa going great guns ,Nums looks fitter than I have ever seen him . -

Great to see former Northland boy Namatahi Waa going great guns ,Nums looks fitter than I have ever seen him .I didn't know he was from up your way, I also didn't know he went to Te Aute either. For some reason I always thought he was from Wellington!

@nepia he’s got Whanau up our way ,always had talent, but was never fit ..
-
@nepia how good was the shift from Waa & PRS..?.

BOOM! Another Wellington scalp! And the score is flattering them as well!
And we have too many walking (and non-walking) wounded. Stacey Ili off injured. Rakete-Stones stayed on, but grabbing his painful shoulder all the time. Ash Dixon also not 100% in the 2nd half (leg injury?)
The bye next week will hopefully help to get a few guys back to health.

Lincoln McClutchie was again outstanding. He's made some fine try assists already, this season. Kicking well, too. Played a lot better than both Wellington 10s.
Jonah Lowe and Lolagi Visinia also very good. Our frontrow looking very strong, with our pack absolutely dominating the scrum.I heard on the radio commentary that the weird Wellington selections were not due to injuries. The Wellington commentators were of the opinion that the Wellington coaching staff underestimated the Magpies, which would be pretty stupid if true. While Wellington came back in the 2nd half, mostly thanks to Bay boy Tyrone Thompson, it was a lacklustre performance from the Lions, despite the Magpies also not playing their best game with so many players in the injury ward.
