@machpants So what? There are plenty of young fans who have never seen Nelson-Bays play.
It's all about the anyway.

Decent game.
Northland is a much better team than 3-4 years ago - hung around for quite a bit longer than I was happy with.
Difference was probably Faingaánuku, Talea and Hunt.
Big Leicester is a bit like a pig in shit in NPC these days!
Mitch Hunt would have enjoyed his day out - and Reihana's early poor goal kicking was costly. Probably six inches ahead of Grooby's kick, but he scored it so easily you could say Northland deserved to be punished. (I'll be the only one suggesting that!).
Talea excellent as well - pretty much mistake free and a threat every time he touched the ball.
Segner was excellent when he came on, as well. Otherwise, I though the Northland pack probably just about shaded our starting pack.
Most of our backs were pretty decent. Another solid outing by Grooby - not outshone by Nock.
Plenty to work on - onwards and upwards.

Obviously gutted to lose any game, but gee, was not expecting that performance.
In large parts of that game our defence was excellent, forcing Ta$man into errors or rushing things.
We looked bloody good attacking them in close, still lacking punch out wide, but potential is there.
Our pack muscled up and probably shaded them.
Caird, Goodhue and Olsen were all very good.
Big Leicester was probably the difference in the end, that 2nd try he got, no one else would have got that and that was the one that broke us.
I think Uluilakepa offers alot all over the park, but need to get him fit!!!
Wright was pretty quiet out there, got through his work at set piece.
Our scrum was solid, best 80 minute lineout showing I can remember for years!!
Gregory is so strong on defence and in close, but seems odd for a guy that played NZ 7s he hasn't offered a great deal else with ball in hand.
Nock was very good, he and Reihana forming a good.combo (obviously played together at school too)
Our loosies went pretty well out there, shame Rush was injured, Kara slotted in nicely.
Noah Cooper looked calm and assured, made some crucial tackles and ran well.
Macilai needs to get more involved he is still elusive and strong and has that spark you want
Grant looked good when he came out.
Leilua just looks lost quite often out there when play goes beyond a couple of phases, I just don't think he is upto this level.
Now Hohaia, jeez, see our line come up straight with him busting out, missed a straight on tackle on Leicester, sure he is hard to bring down but went for the big hit rather than ensuring the tackle.
He offers little going forward as well, tries to play like Laumape without the pace and punch, I think if that's what they want, i think Going can give more.

@taniwharugby your boys played well. Lots of endeavour. Some poor one on one tackling but loved the attack.
Some of the class players for Ta$man stepped up and played well.

I reckon there were a few guys that really stepped up this week compared to the first few games. Olsen, Caird, Goodhue and Moemoedonu all played well. Pryor had a big impact when he came on - brings a lot more energy. Wonder if the Blues will be looking at Caird, they need locks, he's bulked up, still a good ball carrier and good in line out. Could definitely do worse.
I thought today after Hohaias efforts in the first half it would make sense to bring J Cooper on at fullback and push N Cooper into the midfield. Thought N Cooper tackled well but didn't show much in attack. Was way out of position for the offside 'try'. As @taniwharugby said we need to get Macilai involved more. He could be so damaging like Fainganuku and Telea were for Ta$man.
If we play like that against the Championship teams we will go well this season.
