Could also mean the AB's may not get into WA now.

Surely they travel tomorrow in the 48 hour window? Politcally they'll be allowed out

What 48 hour window? There is no restriction on travel out in Level 4, but it is upto WA to accept NZ flights or not

anecdotally got told there was a 48 hour window for people to relocate before they were locked down properly. Either way, teh ABs will be going I'm sure (unless WA decline them)

Nope not true L4 starts 1159, that was for the original L4, got 48 hours notice. Not now, not with Delta and we know what lockdown means and is.

Teams can't train under L4 so there won't be any NPC this weekend, or under L3 due to restrictions on gatherings.

Yeah and we are very unlikely to go straight from L4 to L2 (play without crowds) on Friday, so this weekend will be a write off

Considering so many games were played at the same time during rounds 1 and 2, I guess I'll now have the time to watch all the games I missed.

@nzzp 48 hours was for people to get home if they were up or down country. Bot allowed to leave home after 11.59pm tonight.

@dan54 Yeah, the 48 hours is for getting home only, not for going anywhere you want.

However you can get dispensation to travel out of the country, if flights are still going. People did it last level 4 and the same applies, it is not like they will close the airport.

@machpants Yep, but - as said earlier - that depends on whether WA still allows them in.

Agree with those saying the NPC will be shitcanned this weekend and possibly also the following weekend. Friday night is impossible as we're all at L4. If most of the country goes to L3 on Saturday then the limits on gatherings still rules it out. If the country sans Auckland is at L2 by the following weekend then play is possible but NH, Auckland and CM will probably still be at L3 minimum so they'd be out. Ideally the latter scenario takes place and the whole comp plays one midweek make up round with the greater Auckland sides and their opposition playing two midweek make up games.

Hopefully this means Sky picks up extra AFL final round games this weekend to help fill the void 🙂

    As expected:

Bunnings Warehouse NPC, Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) and Heartland Championship matches, as well as all community and school rugby this weekend has been cancelled or postponed, New Zealand Rugby (NZR) announced today.

The next rounds of Bunnings Warehouse NPC, FPC and Heartland Championship will be rescheduled to be played at a later date in the competition. No community rugby is to be played at any level however Provincial Unions and their local organising bodies will determine whether those matches are cancelled or postponed.

NZR’s decision means Round 3 of the Bunnings Warehouse NPC, the opening round of the Bunnings Warehouse Heartland Championship, and Rounds 6 and 7 of the FPC Championship and Premiership respectively, will now be played at a later date in the competition.

Rescheduled match timings will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Lancaster said NZR would review the status of all competitions beyond this weekend after the Government’s next COVID update on Friday 20 August.

Everything could change again but the plan is to push the SFs and finals back one week and play this round at the end of the round robin.

Don't know about anyone else, but I don't like the way this is heading. I know the Prime Minister tried to put a positive spin on it, but my gut feel is that this could be a long haul.

@billsy111 I think we can write off next weekend as well; and then it just depends on how quickly this break-out is contained.

Good news for the Lions. Hopefully they can get a few players back from injury over the next couple of weeks.

I wonder whether they could shorten the NPC by cutting out two of the four cross-over games?
