Surprised the Chiefs didn't sign Tom Florence.
He is missing. Dammit.
I wonder if he has been picked up by another team.
I thought he was outstanding for Waikato. -

Landers are sorted I think, Blues too,Crusaders have signed Gardner and Kellow from their academy so I hear.
Hurricanes ? -
i think the loose forwards were already inked before npc .
happy as can be with that team. mitch brown was on muti year contract so had to be there , poihpi lucky not that i dislike him would have liked to have picked that electric out side back but i guess there wasnt one and chase tiatia also on multi year -
Parker is a no.8, who can play 6. I think Boshier will definitely be the backup openside in that mix.
Officially, the squad is meant to be announced at 8 am. I was told Reihana wasn't retained so that info must be wrong.
IMO they've selected one too many inside/midfield backs and not enough loose forwards and outside backs.

I don't think he has played any games this year (Chiefs or Waikato). Parker is a big unit, bigger than Jacobson for example. He was even used at lock for Waikato when they played Northland in Kaikohe last year.
He wouldn't be suited to openside.
Agree that Poihipi was probably lucky (again).

@yeetyaah If Trask is to start at fullback you don't need a 1st 5 in the reserves. A midfield back (Nankivell) and outside back would be better. I wouldn't be surprised if Narawa starts on the wing, as McMillan is obviously a fan.
@bobily2 I also favour a Finau-Cane-Jacobson loose forward trio. Sowakula to replace Finau in the 2nd half. That would make Jacobson the backup 7 in the 23.
