@steven-harris Murray looks quite skinny for a 13, has he got a bit of pace?

@tim was very good try from Murray showed some pace ..some pretty sloppy defending from Taniwha ..there was a hole I could have driven a truck through

@steven-harris big gap between our starting 15 and what we finished with...reflecting the blow out score.

WHile the score showed a comfortable win for Auckland, it wasnt really until things got messy with all the subs and the drop off to Northlands extended bench was exposed that Auckland really took over.

What was really pleasing was our physicality, so often against Auckland we let them bully us, and when Auckland dominated the opening 10 I thought it was gonna more of the same.

We have a very competitive pack out there, although not sure how long Tom will be out with concussion, that will be a big blow to him and Northland.

I wouldnt be adverse to them shifting Hallam-Eames to 6 and Caird/Goodhue in the locks if he is out for a period...Hallam-Eames looks a bloody good signing.

THought Te Whata-Colley largely held his own against Hodgman, with the Auckland pack getting on top of the Northland scrum in the 2nd spell.

We defended well for long periods, but also showed patience with ball in hand (sometimes) too.

I think Rivez Reihana looked bloody sharp out there, I'd be looking to start him next week, maybe push Johnny Cooper to 15.

All in all, I am reasonably happy with what I saw, I was a bit worried Auckland would run us over, but this side showed some heart and stood up to them.

I am still amazed Zarn Sullivan was not taken off for an HIA after the collision, both he and Tom appeared to be unconscious, seemed about a minute before Zarn moved from lying on his back and maybe 30 sec longer for Tom lying on his side.
