For the first time in a long time, I didn't sit through that whole debacle. And I sat through the whole 62-6 thrashing at the hands of Penrith back in 2013. I watched Game of Thrones instead.

Some thoughts:

- I know it is the first episode of season six but too many storylines in one episode. Pace yer self.

- Those Dornish women are fine. Even when they murder someone it's sexy.

- I wait for tits and then that. Fuck you.

- Sansa Stark needs to put a bit more effort into her overall game. A little mongrel and - boom - you're fighting for the main prize.

- Still she did better than the Warriors tonight.

Scraping the bottom to fill our bench this week.

Good to see Lisone dropped from the team this week. He looked like he didn't want to be there last night. In terms of props in league - generally all they have to do is hit the ball up hard and make some tackles and people will say that they had an okay game. He looked bloody terrible last night. That first try was on him, he didn't even move to make an attempt to stop him.

Is there any word on how long Mannering will be out for?

Pretty hard game to watch yesterday. Even harder to watch in an Australian themed bar full of Melbourne supporters.

I'll still support the Warriors because I'm not a fairweather fan. I swear some people sit silent on the Warriors until they screw up, just so they can call talkback radio and tell Veitchy that there are too many Polynesians and it's the classic Warriors of old. Those are the same guys who suddenly have brand new Warriors jersies and tickets to the game when they make the top 8. Overall disappointment levels during a Warriors season aren't really that much higher than supporting the Chiefs prior to 2008, and the Steamers for about 15 of their last 20 seasons...
-

Is he gone? If he was ever going to go it was yesterday morning. Why give him another week when, he's trademarked for Bluey - "lost the dressing room"? Half the players were looking around when he was doing his halftime rant.

Meh, it's the Warriors, they'll win this well, the fawning Auckland media will be believers again and the rollercoaster will continue on.

I want them to get Cleary too, I haven't been able to rant about 2nd rowers at centre for a while now.
-

Someone else who feels my pain! Add in NZ cricket up to 2 years ago, and Liverpool and I feel like I earned the right to overcelelebrate the all blacks.

Wait, aren't you from Auckland? Are you mocking me? -

I can forgive the New Zealand Steamers and New Zealand Chiefs as they aren't the only NZ team in their respective competitions... (I see we're about to get the New Zealand back in the Warriors)

Though it is a tough set of teams to follow in terms of title wins...
-

Tauranga born and bred. Auckland based at the time I joined the BOP Mafia student division...

Oh yeah I forgot the black caps. Basically the only teams I've ever supported that have done well are the All Blacks and the Breakers. And that's still an odd feeling for me when they win championships.. -

I support Northland, I think that trumps all :(

To be fair to the Warriors, it's not like the can exclusively draw from the New Zealand stocks in the same way the All Blacks can. They're still subject to the same salary cap (if only they could spend it wisely), so are probably (only very slightly) disadvantaged by being the only NZ team because they travel more fan the other NRL -

Yep, the same special breed of dickwad who will go on about "us" doing really well in the Americas Cup but when Team NZ fail it's "them" who fucked up and got beaten.

In saying that talkback can be unintentional comedy gold when the ABs lose. I'll never forget one old bloke who rung and whinged that "Richie McCaw let him down personally" by not going for a penalty with time left ( can't remember specifics but it was a huge blunder by captain fantastic apparently ) and then mentioned a brilliant tactical decision that he ( talkback caller ) made when captaining the "bumfuck NZ town which I can't remember" under 19 team which of course is exactly the same if not more pressure than playing against the Boks at Ellis Park in front of 60,000 japies baying for blood.

Deaker is a distant memory in the Radio sport world but I remember him being pretty racist against the island players in the Warriors when it suited him. Give him a Campion or Mannering any day. Cantankerous old git ( still preferable to Veich though )
-

Which is why I much preferred it when they were called the Auckland Warriors. (Same with the NZ Sevens team now called being the All Blacks Sevens, but that's another rant ) -

Well as I have said before, there was a qulity rant by Mark Watson after the loss to Aus last year that Twattue woulda been proud of...he and some callers were having a bit of a go at Tew and Hansen last night too saying they will lose Rennie because he is from Manawatu instead of Christchurch.

If people think Hansen has been a roadblock to the development of other coaches, what are the thoughts on Titch?
-

I do a bit of listening to RadioSport on the Week on Deamand function when i go on my morning constitutional (my age walikng is about all I am up for).

Last couple of mornings at exactly the same place heard a couple or curmudgeonly bastards rabbitingy on to Daniel McHardy.

Firsy old fluffybunny going on about how the Warriors are overpaid show ponies.

Second old fluffybunny next morning going on about how Savea won't be missed as he isn't a sprinter

Couldn't bring myself to listen. Despite how funny they were. Kudos to McHardy for keeping a straight face. -

Yeah , heard his missus has walked out on him with his kid , and he has taken it pretty hard.

I'm cynical of this (I've also been watching House of Cards).

So that means the Kiwis will be down to Shaun Johnson, Thomas Leuluai, Kodi Nikorima, Petr Hiku, Tohu Harris and Josh Hoffman in the halves. Let's see:

1.Hiku 2.Nightingale 3.SKD 4.Kahu 5.Perrett 6.Hoffman 7.Johnson 8.Bromwich 9.Luke 10.Matulino 11.Proctor 12.Harris 13.Taumalolo

Bench: 14.Brown 15.Taupau 16.Blair 17.Eastwood 18th man:Nikorima
-
