The NRL Season of 2016

Gee what a surprise, the Broncos playing on a Friday night. At least the TV deal means i don't have to listen to Ray Hadley, and my ears aren't at risk of the screwdriver treatment.

This looks like first grade against reserve grade.

6-0 after 8.

Bye coach -

Explains it better than myself or anyone else on here. Just take the pill and run it up the middle all day long. It will open the lanes for SJ and RTS.

Also don't play sideways.

And use Konrad Hurrell.

Basically do the opposite of what you did last weekend.

I didnt see too much last week ,

Johns rates Luke highly , well he did when he was a wabbit ,

And i heard him through the week saying they have to revolve their game around Lukes strengths
-

We've looked good in the last 10 minutes. Making big yards and holding our D line. -
Why can't RTS tackle?

We've been the better team for nearly 20 mins they finally shift to the left and we give up another. Shit effort by the fullback lets it in though.

12-8 -
Agreed Brandy not enough urgency from the cover. Up your game
-
As I finish typing a complimentary post, we play some matador defence and let them in. RTS a shocker
-
Kata is playing alright actually great runs out of dummy half
-
Good finish. Looks like Blake A is goneski.

But man it's disappointing to see a couple of decent ingoal kicks and not forcing a repeat set. -

That's it, 2 injuries and now a try the Warriors will quit
-
Time I went to bed, I'm wrecked.

Huge improvement from the Warriors in the 55 odd minutes I've watched.
They've played more direct and made very few, if any errors with the ball, defense is another story.

Despite this, they haven't really threated the Brisbane try line too much. Last plays just haven't quite been on the money and the Broncos have been too good.

If they keep playing like they have in the first hour or so, they'll win more than they lose. -
We're fucked.

That attack should show the Warriors what to do. Direct with bodies in motion. Not lateral and one-off like us.

Johnson has been shit -

Warriors put in another 40 minute performance and the Broncos cruise to a 25-10 victory.

Positives:

- The Warriors played a more direct running game which got Luke a little more involved (and got him a try).

- Kata was one of the better players for once. At least he was trying to do something unlike some of the veterans.

- Bodene Thompson was causing trouble for Reed and Milford's side of the field on attack and defence.

- As mentioned, Sam Lisone is all aggression.

Negatives:

- Forget the annual media reports of the boys running over sand dunes - these guys aren't fit enough. Fatigue has been a problem for several seasons now.

- Even before he got injured Manu Vatuvei was struggling. Time to bring in Fusitua (AND KONRAD HURRELL!!!!). Sadly Cappy will bring in Jonty Wright and Matt Allwood.

- Speaking of the soon-to-be fired coach, best image of the night was Cappy sitting in the box surrounded (and I do mean "surrounded") by 4-5 assistant coaches. This was followed by a shot of the Broncos coaching box which showed only Wayne Bennett.

- This was also a good image:

Best Warriors of the night? Probably Thompson, Gavet and Kata. Yes, Kata.
-

I didn't hear his name in commentary until about the 20 minute mark.

Agree Kata was terrific, as was Thompson.

Ayshford is yet another 'meh' type player that Cappy loves, never going to create something from nothing. I wonder who the Warriors could use for more impact in that centre position?....???? Hmmmmmmm
