It's either host it all here or host it all there, based on the current stance of the government. Don't blame rugby, blame Jacinda's lot

If a sports writer or someone in the media writes the article that points that out, I bet they change this.
I don't think Aunty Jacinda wants to be seen as the reason for the ABs sucking so bad as they do.
That's cynical, but if anyone at NZRU wants this changed, call your media people.
-
Why does your government hate rugby? They know minorities and women play it yeah?

Any chance of Cindy changing anything in the face of a new variant (regardless of any scientific view on the variant) is zero.

Why did they put the draw out without knowing the plans of the Governments? They should have put TBC for grounds until clarification. They put the draw out before the first meeting of the new committee! I think they could play all of the inter country games and then all head to OZ for a super round and the Trans Ta$man games.
TBF this Covid shite is going to keep changing and being reacted to. planning anything 6 months out is fraught with danger.
However you still have to lay down your plans (and this goes for sports comps and governments both) then adjust.

It is a planning nightmare right now. Everything needs to be laid out with a *

Seems that you could readily do some tours though. Play a Friday game in Aus, then travel Saturday, 7 day isolation, and play Sunday in NZ. Then travel internally, and back across the Tassie.
1-2 teams playing in Aus each Friday could be the shot, opens up the travel opportunity.
-
surely they can set something up with more super rounds, first four or five rounds in NZ, then everyone has a bye and goes to aus for the second half of the season

7 days MIQ plus 3 days at home iso - so not going to work, sadly

ah blast. I thought it was 7 days only, not 7+3.
10 days means you need a bye week to travel, which sucks.
-
surely a bye 10 days is better than all in one country, the players are always going on about needing a break anyway
a 10 day bye followed by a super round to get everyone excited again

I think this is what they will do - and cross their fingers that by April the restrictions are eased (isn't April the tentative month from when the current restrictions are to be re-visited?)

“Most of those teams have learnt enough, and there's enough support and infrastructure around them, and international experience to be able to manage bubbles incoming and outgoing.
Ironic when some wallabies are stuck in the UK with covid and their awesome bubble they had. They're dreaming, no exceptions was stated when it was announced.
