@kiwimurph He must have improved markedly in the latter games of the Brumbies that I did not watch.

That's a raw French team, the captain has 8 caps

I assume this will be another game with a late change in the ref. It's meant to be Pickerill.

@bovidae They shouldn't! It would mean he can't come back for a while! 😁

    🙂

@stargazer Unfortunately he can't even leave NZ with the travel pause.

    These are the officials:

@barbarian why are these midweek fixtures? Seems a bit weird ... what did I miss?

@nzzp Has to do with the fact that the French comp finished late, two weeks managed isolation, the need to return in time for preseason etc. They had to shorten the playing window.

@barbarian not sold on the current iteration of To'omua - he hasn't looked right for the Rebels and was a bit of a handbrake on their attack I think. Looks very passive.

I give him the benefit of the doubt, I think he's one of the few blokes we have who gets better when he pulls on the gold jersey.

I like the balance of the starting loose forwards

Who would play openside if Hooper gets injured?

@nta Is the reserve hooker also the reserve hooker for the Brumbies? If so then you had better hope that the starting rake does not get injured early on in the game and requires replacement.

Lonergan has played well this season and a debut from the bench is fitting reward for his form.

Given the lack of experience in that backline can see why they've gone To'omua.

I'd play him at 10 instead of Lolesio for the first test.

    canary yellow?

I think they last had an almost gold version of a jersey back in 88 in Poidevin's pomp, but even then it was slightly orange, since then it's seemed to have been coward canary yellow.

@nepia They have changed it this year, it's much more gold than it was before.

Yeah that's much closer to the 88 orange that Lloyd Walker struggled to keep over his tummy.

Very good, RA had a competition for the permanent colour of the Wallabies jersey, and they went for

    Tom Decent  /  Jan 28, 2021  /  Rugby Union

Epic tiebreaker sees 1991 Wallabies jersey voted as colour of the future

Epic tiebreaker sees 1991 Wallabies jersey voted as colour of the future

The Wallabies are set to wear the same shade of gold as Australia’s World Cup-winning side of 1991 from now on after a dramatic tiebreaker following a split vote.
