Investment in a home gym and a preference for a programme that addresses tendinopathy has lead me to knees over toes guy
I tried Nordic hammy curls for the first time today after watching some of his videos yestereve.
My right VMO has all the power and form of a small and helpless kitten, and it is affecting my knee and calf, noticeably when I got a massage the other day and nearly said "fuck" out loud when they started on my calf muscle. So I decided to give knees over toes guy a shot.
Jesus fuck.... I mean, I knew it was going to be hard but that shit kills. I did
Tested my eccentric load and it was acceptably awful.
5 x bodyweight split squat each side
5 x reverse nordics
5 x nordic hammy curl using 36" height and it was really much more than that.Felt like I'd just run 3km, just with one set of that shit.

Knees over toes guy has some good stuff……problem with my knee is all the noise it makes. I’ll never be able to sneak up on anyone again, ever.

The sadist in me likes finding new exercises that demonstrate weakness. I got a slant board that absolutely burns my
VMO just doing bodyweight squats. Flexibility has always been a work on for me and one I constantly make small progress and then ignore to my own detriment. All the things I don't enjoy doing are apparently good for me. Consuming carbs, not so much. -

Between the flu and the festive season, I haven't been training much this month and I feel it is starting to show.
-
This popped up in my YT feed. Amusing and quite frankly alarming as I haven't trained since prepping to go to France last year.
Doc says another week and the internal stitches should be dissolving so I can start training again. I already know it will be worse than the above video and certainly not as funny. Perhaps once you get over 50 there's such a thing as muscle amnesia?

That was pretty cool, I liked his honesty and humbleness. I’m shocked he only managed FOUR dips though !
You really do have to use it or lose it especially as the time passes.
Thank goodness I have a garage gym ( which is also a garage bar but only when I’ve done said gym work )

Just being nosey.. what's your setup? A rack, bench and free weights?
Chin up bar, dip bench ( two wooden benches side by side ), punching bag, weights ( to add to chins/dips )…..barbell…..very basic but it does the job.
I had a bench to bench press but that broke years ago, never replaced it as dips are easier on my shoulders and in my opinion more effective
