I am shocked, shocked that Chelski bought success with KGB/ Russian mob money. Who knew?
They're not called Cheatski for nothing! Roman just wrote off 1.5bn in loans to the club as well. So much for FFP
They’re not called Cheatski.
It was a good run, who knows what the future holds.

They get sold for a cheap (relatively speaking) deal to a Tory doner who doesn't splash as much cash and they regress into a team hunting 4th place I suspect.

Chelsea have won more trophies than any other English club since Abramovich took over but that relied on him not being worried about losing money each season. That won't be a sustainable business model for the new owner, especially if they are American.

Losing money?
He paid 170 mill lent 1.5b and wants 3B for the club.
He was never losing money! Until a week ago at least ….

Hard to see how he would have got £3b with the stadium ownership restrictions.
Will be interesting to see the developments this week and if they are granted a license to sell the club. If the govt want to oversee the process it will not happen quickly.

If the government is involved it will be a clusterfuck. I still don't see how one's citizenship makes one aa criminal who deserves to have assets confiscated from them. If he bought it with proceeds of illegitimate activities, why didn't they do something about that previously?
City three points ahead with 10 games remaining. I'd say Liverpool need to win at Etihad to have a chance, something they haven't managed for a while.

City play Palace tomorrow morning and Palace are a bogey team for them. In the race for 4th, Spurs lost ground as all their rivals won meaning West Ham and Wolves are still in the race. At the bottom, Leeds marmalised Norwich, conceded a 90th minute equaliser and then grabbed a winner - scenes etc. Everton's position is looking worse and worse and maybe Lampard is not the man you need at this point. They have been in the top division since season 1954-55, only Arsenal have a longer run.

Not since November 2015, although they have had one Champions League win at the Etihad since - and a couple of good old fashioned hidings.
-
Will be a really good acid test for both sides - if Arsenal can be competitive and stand up to Liverpool that will bode very well for the run home and their Champions League chances. On the other hand, Liverpool can really build momentum by both closing the gap to a single point and doing it against one of the real in form sides.
This feels like a critical champions league qualification run for both Spurs and Arsenal. Both will be counting on a strong summer transfer window to bolster/refresh their squads. That will be a lot easier with champions league as a carrot. If Arsenal win against Liverpool that will be a big step towards finishing top 4 for Arsenal.
-
If Arsenal don't make it they will have choked Clear in 4th with three games in hand on the chasers. None of whom are in compelling form
After Liverpool they have
Villa A
Palace A
Brighton H
Saints A
Chelsea A
ManU H
West Ham A
Leeds H
Newcastle A
Everton H -
Man U out of the Champs League losing at home
Benfica knock out Ajax as well

It will be a very tough match for us (LFC) as Arsenal are in their best form in some time and we need to win to take advantage of City’s draw.
Salah is fit apparently.
Something tells me a draw is likely 🤬
Pretty sure that Arsenal will get top 4 now regardless of the result tonight
Been raining in London for the most of the day. Still raining now.

@mariner4life And a great result down in Brighton for their nearest rival with Tottenham Hotspur FC tonking Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 to move within three points of the Gunners for the 4th Champions League position. Next up for the chop from Spurs is West Ham United with fingers crossed Aston Villa can make it a forgettable couple of days for Arsenal.
