@canefan In our money, but in pound it's 25 mil.
Nice payday for him
Well, you know he doesn't get that right? Burnley gets that.
Either way it's a fair way above what he's worth .... But thats something Newcastle has to deal with now that everybody knows they have bottomless pit of a bank account.
Good on him though, maybe he will win the Halberg too! Nothing like saying your best sportsman in the country is probably the 10th best striker in a European league .
I imagine he will get a wage rise
-
I imagine Wood will get a fair wage rise and a longish contract which for a 30 year old must have been very tempting. It is almost like an each way bet for Newcastle. He can do a job to help them stay up (if they can get supply to him) and he will be a weapon next season if they do go down.
-
@majorrage I think 10th is being kind haha.
-
So, assuming City maintain their points per game average for the rest of the season (and there is no reason to assume they won't)
Then Liverpool have now reached the point where they have to win every single one of their last 17 games to win the title.Everyone else is already cooked.

Tinkerman sacked. Ranieri goooorn after only 14 games at Watford (11 of which they lost).
Watford should have spoken to someone at Fulham before they appointed him.
They were looking a silver bullet of magic.
Ranieri was worth a shot. Howe would have been good too but that ship has sailed.
Relegation is inked in.

@bovidae Why Woy? Why?
You would think he could just retire at 74. He first was a manager in 1976!!!! He's almost reached 50 years in football management, not sure anyone could rival that for a duration. This is his 24th position. Just in England it is Bristol City, Blackburn, Fulham, Liverpool, West Brom, Palace and now Watford (and England).
What a tenure for Ranieri - only 2 wins but they were 5-2 at Everton and 4-1 at home to Manchester United (both managers now sacked).

Wow!! That is a great stat!!!
I had to look into that as I didn't believe it. Some context!
6 managers between founding (1902) to 1990. So average 15 years each!
then 18 manager changes since then! So it's 24 manager changes, but a lot of managers have come back
Roeder, Booking, Moyes have all done two stints, whilst Kevin Keen (don't know him) has done 3!
-
@majorrage Keen's still at West Ham. He's been caretaker on three occasions currently U18's coach. I remember him playing for them in the 80's
Crazily I remember every coach but the first three. Those three account for 60 years though.

Yes me too. Greenwood/Lyall covered 28 years between them. Those were the days ..... Watford's last pair of managers were more like 28 weeks.
