Bugger me, that is George Chakiris!
He was leader of the Jets on stage and leader of the Sharks in the movie - man the fella could dance!
He is 86 now and still working, but as a specialist jeweler (ramping up his lifetime hobby). He ceased acting in the mid 1990s, after those stellar performances on the stage (two years on the West End) then on the big screen in 1961. Much of his subsequent work was on television.

@kiwimurph A indictment on the Australia education system perhaps? Obviously cultural/sexual sensitivities take just as much presendence over traditional education learning skills over there as they do here.
