Innocuous ACL ruptures
-
First Jack Goodhue in tackle, then Joe Launchbury and George North at weekend.
All three cases no impact involved, just a twist followed by knee 'collapsing'. Full ACL ruptures!!
Random maybe, but wondering if some of the modern day conditioning might be contributing?

im booked in to have my ACL fix on the 10th
Mine was in contact but everyone ive seen through the process has asked if it was in contact or not, theyve all said its a super common injury, even non contact ones.
i pointed out to my physio that loads of people had told me they'd done theirs now, like it had become an ice breaker, he simplified it nicely for me, ankle can move in lots of directions, hip can move in lots of directions...knee can more or less only go back to front...its always in the line of fire as it were
i also remember my wifes doc explaining when she did hers that in the 80's they probably wouldn't bother fixing it...you'd just learn to live with a limp (at worst) and wear a brace when she skied, so there might have been a lot more injuries in the past that weren't made a big deal about
