2004 -"best team to ever leave NZ" Oh how we were going to smack the Poms.
Lost by 9 7 and 4 wickets
They were in all those games and ahead going into the fourth day in the first and third tests.
Lost Bond before the tests, Vettori after the first test and then Martin and Mills both broke down in their first spells of the final test.
In hindsight it wasn't a bad effort given what that English team became.

@rotated Exactly
We should never total up the poultry as history tells us we are masters at inventive ways to fuck up
You’re certainly not saying anything that’s not wrong, but I really think this team is different.
Think of a Warriors fan saying “This is our year” but actually meaning it.

Please God - NO!
Someone give me a gun
If I’m wrong you can abuse me and call me names online, if I’m right then we triumph. Win Win.

Can’t wait to see Conway get to show his worth at Test level. Hopefully he takes this opportunity with both hands, arguably the best batsmen in NZ atm with Williamson out of form lately.

What a ridiculous call. How is KW out of form exactly ? Have you seen how he did last summer ? Is he still not the highest ranked test batsman in the world ?
I think I’d also mention the rest of the top six before bestowing this sort of hyperbole on a guy who has never played test cricket.
Still completely unproven at that level.

Fair enough, I should have phrased that better, I was referring to recent international matches Conway has been involved in. He stood out and performed better than anyone else, am I not wrong? Was meant to say the most in form player, not the best.
Obviously you can’t compare him to the test lineup but he looks to have all the tricks in the book to do very well in the longer form of the game.
Can’t wait to see him work wonders alongside Williamson in years to come.

Ha the first part of your post was fine, you shoulda just quit after the comma
I’m just as excited to see what he brings to the table, hoping for great things. I’m possibly a bit worried that he’s being shoehorned to open but then that never did Justin Langer any harm.

@mn5 haha for sure. Feel for Blundell a little because he’s been fairly solid as an opener but I guess he will jump into Watling’s spot when he hangs up a the gloves.
Dare I say it NZ cricket has “depth”......
Young could take a middle order spot once Taylor retires and I’d imagine Nicholls goes to four in the order.

@mn5 it certainly bodes well for the Black Caps going forward. We also have Ravindra coming through aswell who will be a huge asset when he eventually gets an opportunity. Almost too much talent to choose from, a great headache to have for NZ cricket.
