We’re up against one very good batsmen, a few journeymen, two ancient pacemen and a bunch of unknowns, surely we got this ?

Hubris and NZ Cricket have a long time love affair
It’s been a long time since we’ve been the Black Craps. I stand by my post.

@dogmeat I just noted those TAB odds - MN5 evidently hasn't yet got around to putting his house on the Black Caps.
England $1.85, NZ $2.80.
Are NZ punters still living in the past, or just anticipating disappointment?
Geez, anyone would think we were opening with our two Blairs ( Hartland and Pocock ) to counter all their ollies.

You clearly aren't as damaged as the rest of us.
So take back, take it back, fucking take it back! Quivering behind one of 3 sofas now.

2004 -"best team to ever leave NZ" Oh how we were going to smack the Poms.
Lost by 9 7 and 4 wickets
To be fair, Shane Bond took the flight didn't he? Just forgot to pack all the pieces he needed in his back!
Message to these English fluffybunnies.
You can actually win these tests. There's just about nine of our players that you may not break fingers or toes on.

I think it's a permanently ingrained psyche. We expect and demand the All Blacks to win. We expect and fear the Black Caps to FUBAR any great opportunity.
@MN5 may be fully healed, but the last game we played at Lords and the last away Test series remind our inner conscience that any version of the Black Caps are still capable of managing an Idiot Foster against Argentina.
Couch and bean bag at the ready for hiding behind purposes.

Oh I’ve had as much damage as all of you believe me.....
Heres a scorecard that made me cry.

It'll be interesting to see the off side fields and bowling plans to Sibley. He doesn't at all look like he's set up to play off side. Infuriating. Ollie Pope is a very good bat. Their pace bowling attack is also very good. Wood shouldn't be underrated.
🤔 probably run out of curses....

They were in all those games and ahead going into the fourth day in the first and third tests.
Lost Bond before the tests, Vettori after the first test and then Martin and Mills both broke down in their first spells of the final test.
In hindsight it wasn't a bad effort given what that English team became.

We should never total up the poultry as history tells us we are masters at inventive ways to fuck up
You’re certainly not saying anything that’s not wrong, but I really think this team is different.
Think of a Warriors fan saying “This is our year” but actually meaning it.

Please God - NO!
Someone give me a gun
If I’m wrong you can abuse me and call me names online, if I’m right then we triumph. Win Win.

Can’t wait to see Conway get to show his worth at Test level. Hopefully he takes this opportunity with both hands, arguably the best batsmen in NZ atm with Williamson out of form lately.

What a ridiculous call. How is KW out of form exactly ? Have you seen how he did last summer ? Is he still not the highest ranked test batsman in the world ?
I think I’d also mention the rest of the top six before bestowing this sort of hyperbole on a guy who has never played test cricket.
Still completely unproven at that level.

Fair enough, I should have phrased that better, I was referring to recent international matches Conway has been involved in. He stood out and performed better than anyone else, am I not wrong? Was meant to say the most in form player, not the best.
Obviously you can’t compare him to the test lineup but he looks to have all the tricks in the book to do very well in the longer form of the game.
Can’t wait to see him work wonders alongside Williamson in years to come.
