Auckland Rugby 2021

@tim Sadly no. Its too soon, the wound is still open. I will be busy hiding the Gallaher shield in a secret location so that the evil Empire (GC) can't find it. The resistance will destroy that death star next season. I hope it's live streamed. I would like to have a look at Felix Kalapu who's a lock/6 for GC and to see how Jock Mckenzie handles the big occasion. He impressed me for the Blues colts side.

I now invoke my ancestral founding membership of the great Eden Rugby club. They will start their one hundredth year next season as first time Gallaher shield champs. well done them. I thought the Rutherford brothers were outstanding and looked NPC worthy players especially the lock Cameron who was the best forward on the field for mine. HB Costa, Prop Fricconet and hooker Hill were also excellent (both appeared briefly for Auckland a few seasons back). Best for GT i thought was wing Tangitau, super dangerous and blindside Fotofili who made some great tackles.

Ex-Westlake GTEC wing Caleb Tangitau is dangerous.
He looked pretty awesome for Westlake at fullback.
Only turned 18 this year, and made NZ SS team last year. One to watch.

@booboo will be stoked.
Am indeed. Just got a Messenger message from our old team manager telling me the news.
It sure beats battling to avoid the wooden spoon (which thankfully we never managed ... but got damn close).
They've become quite the powerhouse in the last few years.

Full replay of the club final.
Every time Commentator Steven Bates called a player by their first name, which he did often, I thought maybe they are in his NPC squad. But then I guess he would know a few from age grade and development teams.
