NBA 2015/16 thread

Despite what seems to be 'selfish' play (he's copped that label), I don't think that carries on into the locker room for Westbrook. He's a team guy from what I've read and he knows just like every superstar in the league, that you cannot win a championship without other stars.

I think KD still takes the majority of clutch situation shots and I don't hear any sulking coming from Westbrook. -

Well all my optimism about OKC.... got ground under a pair of boots... with spurs on.

I hope they let the women and children leave before halftime because that was an execution
-

Just watched the replay. Hard to comeback from that type of hiding.

Durant got shut down and Aldridge went nuts. Thought Adams did well considering.

Problem is OKC are stuck playing iso-ball with Durant and Westbrook. The Spurs and GS play a heavy passing offense and everyone gets to score. The support players of the Thunder don't get a lot of shots so if their two best are shut out or go cold no one steps up

If the Spurs shoot 61% again, I'll eat my hat.....

Well I guess it was an effective way of eliminating the defensive rebounding of OKC...
-

Golden State get it done fairly comfortably against Portland this morning. They should have enough firepower to get through the series without Curry, and set up an enticing showdown with the Spurs...

Meanwhile Cleveland will win the East, and everyone else is competing for second. It won't even be close.
-

Anyone know why we aren't getting these games live on Sky?

Went to put the OKC/Spurs game on SkyGo on my desk and it isn't even showing.

Just normal rights issue, basically if it is on ESPN US. it will be shown here.

But sometimes they show TNT games.. and this is a TNT game.. so fuck it I dont know.

I watched Sundays game, and I know there is anotehr later on the week from this series.

BTW.. how fucking good is Adams at dunking now? He could get seriously good.
-

Not sure where this quote is from but

Adams statline so far: 21min, 10pts (4/4 FG, 2/2 FT), 11reb, 1blk, 1stl. This is good stuff from the 3rd-year NBA player from New Zealand. Playing with the poise, physicality and purpose that is going to earn him a very big payday soon.

He's the sort of big man - athletic, physical, rebounds, improved touch - that most teams would love to have in a guard orientated league. Pay day will come for sure, even more so if one of KD or Westbrook leave.

It's not like he's paid a low wage at the moment at $2.5M a year but that could multiply by anything up to ten times.
That's a lot of money for a boy from Rotorua. -
Adams is on US$2.3m this season. That's in the bottom half of all NBA players. And is at the lower end of regular NBA starting players.

He has a guaranteed $3.1m for next season and a qualifying offer for over $4.3m in 2017-18. Then he is a free agent, but he may not wait until then to seal a new deal. -

I am sure you meant to say restricted free agent, but that quibble doesnt effect his pay day.. just who pays him. OKC get first divs.

His defence in that last play was CRAZY.

Won the game for OKC

According to this he is in his 3rd yr and the 4th year option has already been done. Will be free agent next year.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have exercised their fourth-year contract option on Kiwi centre Steven Adams, meaning it will not be until the end of the 2016-17 season that he courts the big money on offer in free agency.

The Thunder announced they had picked up the fourth-year options on both Adams and guard Andre Roberson and the third-year option on big man Mitch McGary.

NBA rookie contracts for players drafted in the first round are standardised. The first two years are guaranteed, and the next two are team options.

Adams is about to begin his third season with the Thunder, and is expected to start at the centre position for a team predicted to contend again for a championship with a fully fit roster.

The help on Ginobli to force the behind the head pass to Mills rather than the little floater Manu is good out. Then the hard close out on Mills to force a tough 3 pointer.

Didn't he show some emotion after it missed. I wasn't sure if it was directed at Mills or the crowd, but it was great to see from Adams.
