Expanding on my comment above, the Breakers have now won 11 consecutive playoff games and 9 post-season series in a row.

Game one in Perth will hold no fears for them
-
Wildcats hold off the NZB to win game 1 on the back of a MOTM performance by Nate Jawai. I felt we would go on to win after hitting the lead early in the fourth quarter. But in reality it was a sub par performance with a lack of offensive production from most of the key players. Jawai has a bad back so assuming he flies to Auckland for the game on Friday I'd say he's shot his bolt for the series. Corey and Tom shot terribly, we were sloppy in possession and Perth just wanted it more. I expect an improved performance in game 2 to force a decider on Sunday

a succession of fucking stupid fouls didn't help either, especially at times the Breakers were gaining momentum.

It was there for the taking, we only have ourselves to blame
-
Man what a game tonight. Wasn't a classic in terms of the quality but it was intense watching it.

Couple of massive 3s from Abercrombie and Webster at the death. Again we did some dumb stuff to let them back in but Perth are a tough team to shake.

All on for game 3. -
Some nasty travel scheduling for the final.

I suppose if it any other combination of teams it wouldn't be quite so bad.

Would only be rivalled by some of the Super Rugby semis and finals odessys. I recall the Highlanders playing in NZ, then the Stormers in the semi, then Saders back at Dunners. But at keast they had a week between games. -

I reckon it plays into our hands. Jawai was crucial in game 1, was slowed by his back in game 2, and should be worse after close to 12 hours in cattle class on the way home with no time to R or R ;)
-

Would they flight cheap seats for this?

It's the NBL, cash strapped aren't they? If they were flying Air NZ I hope they put them in the back row next to the loos ;)
-

The dream is over as the NZB luck finally run out. Poor games from C Webster, C Jackson and most of the group. Perth were strong though, deeper than us and it showed. We paid the price for losing gm1. Big decisions for new GM Boucher next season, I reckon we need to reshape the team, some guys will need to be let go

It got ugly. Well done Perth. Can't stand the Wildcats, but they played effective ball and made us earn every basket.

Overall it was an up and down season. We started the season awesome them went into a slump playing some absolutely horrific games. But our run in the last couple of months was great with Cedric turning to a big time shooter and Mika playing a huge series vs Melbourne.

It will be interesting what we do in the offseason. -

where the fuck was that Breakers team 12 months ago? They stank the joint out yesterday, 12 months ago they couldn't miss! fuckers!

Well done Perth, I'm no fan, but you have to admire an organisation with that level of consistency.
-

I was at the beach with no Sky access so followed game 2 progress on my phone. Disappointed with yesterday's result although I only got home in time to see the score in the 4th quarter. I switched channels!

The Breakers were always up against it as the 4th seed and not having home court advantage in the deciding game. Perth is the team I dislike the most, so it's not the end result I wanted.
-

Big changes in the roster at the Breakers for next year. Kirk Penney's signing has been offset by the news that both Cedric Jackson and Tai Wesley won't be back due to salary cap restrictions. Both are expected to be able to earn more money at other NBL teams. Wesley's signature will be sought after as he counts as a local.
