Well after thinking about how stressed I get when I'm rushing to catch a regular AB match..and thinking how much more compounded that might be with waking up at an ungodly hour, traffic, finding a park and dealing with legless drunks, especially when they are my mates, I've decided instead to book a table at Boundary bar in Raumati and if the result goes well then charge into town and celebrate and if not then potentially shuffle off to my accommodation..or into town to drown sorrows. Incidentally if anyone is at a loose end in the Wellington area and fancies a TSF catchup flick me a PM and I can increase the table booking.

I been lucky enough to go to the QF and SF and on Sat will be heading to HQ with my hot little tickets in hand. Have had a couple of mates fly in from Auckland for it so getting plenty of warm ups in this week. Sat will be a big pub lunch near Twickenham followed by heading to the stadium and soaking up the atmos, watching the game then firing up afterwards.

I'm looking forward to all this being over, mainly to give my liver a rest.

Tensions will be high in the NQ household. Mrs NQ is a Wallabies supporter and was 11 years old the last time they won the thing.

This could be a defining moment in our relationship. If we don't get the job done then I will have "4 more years" taunts for, well, the next 4 years. I'm not sure I can handle that.

My son was born in Auckland so is a Small Black through and through. Being 2 he is just learning to talk, but 2 of his favourite phrases are "Go All Blacks!" and "Come on Ref!" so I have him well trained for the occasion.

We will watch the game at home, really not sure what will happen after the match though....

I will be curled in a tight ball behind the couch with a bottle of scotch, gathering the courage to peek between cushions from time to time to check the score.

Not looking forward to this.

The wife and I will be having a hangovertini at skybar , followed by a nice dinner at Sirroco.

We shall then (depending on other suggestions, Siam) head to the Kiwi Pub & Grill to watch the game.

I'm hoping for a kiwi heavy population, because in 2003 I was in Canada watching with a bunch of aussies, there was some trouble, and I forgot that I'm a shit fighter.

Aussies stopped turning up when it was clear we weren't about to win the thing any time soon, and they suddenly remembered they're not rugby fans because its a fucking private school c***'s game.

Maybe next year.

Apparently! I've been working the fern knowledge (gracias Siam) to get an idea of where things are. We're at the Lebua, so hoping it doesn't piss down on Saturday, because we're eating outside :)

If it is anything like 2011 I will be lying dead still on the couch, staring at the TV and not daring to move. The wife thought I had slipped into a coma.

Friends of mine (oddly enough, ones in their 30s who have kids) have decided there's no better way to see things through to the 5am kickoff than having a beer pong tournament kicking off around 10pm. I anticipate I will get knocked out in the first round (hopefully) then either a) head home around 1am, have a short sleep then get up at 5am or b ) blast through to 5am, head home at 7am then go in to work at midday.

Either way, it's going to be an unpleasant afternoon at work on Sunday.

Was offered a couple of tickets to go but turned them down. Am I mad? I want to watch the game on telly where I can get truly fucking emotional, rant, throw things, etc. Can never see squat at the stadium and can't be arsed trying to fight my way out of Twickers. God I'm getting old.
