@taniwharugby 2 Kaitaia boys who could feature in the Taniwha jersey in the future Te Paea Cook Savage and Corey Evans ,Cook Savage could be sooner then we think 😜

Props (LH or TH?)
Sione Ahio (Auckland)(TH?) TH
Josh Fusitua (Auckland) LH
Jack Sexton (Canterbury) LH
Joseph Gavigan (Manawatū) LH
Luca Inch ( Ta$man)(TH)Sexton hasn't really impressed me at the top level when I've seen him play but his old man knows the right people.
This U20 squad has the tallest locks that I can remember. A good thing for the future.
Out of interest, only 10 of the 2019 NZ Schools team are in this squad, along with 4 from the NZ Barbarians Schools team.

@bobily2 said in 2021 New Zealand U20s:
I've seen two lineups (one schoolboy, one club) that show Peters as playing blindside.
Peters was in the original Chiefs U20 squad so must have been injured before Taupo. He was also part of the Taranaki squad for the Chiefs Country Centurion Cup in March.

Still no exact dates; only that it's an abbreviated tournament (I assume, because Fiji and/or Japan aren't participating) and that it's taking place on the GC.Rebels flyhalf Carter Gordon headlines the Junior Wallabies' 31-man squad set to take part in the upcoming Oceania Rugby tournament on the Gold Coast.
Within the squad, there are 11 professional contracted players across the five National Academies and Sevens program, with Gordon joined by Reds duo Kalani Thomas and Mac Grealy and Brumbies lock Tom Hooper.
“A handful of players with Super Rugby experience will add to the academy and club players from across Australia.
The squad will head into camp on June 27 in Queensland before playing in the tournament in early July.

Lucas Brooke, Zinzan's son, starts for England U20s at seven in the first 6N game against France today (well UK today anyway).
Has clearly impressed in the warm up games they've had behind closed doors as he wasn't in the setup at all at U18s.
-
@bovidae I'd like them to publish the updated squad list, too. I know the list published earlier, isn't the final squad. Heard this from the mother of one of the players who was injured during the SRA U20s tournament, who said that there was still a small chance her son would make it into the squad.

That game was based on an earlier post by @Canes4life about Wellington's preseason. There is a NZR Next Generation FB page which may have some info.

All is clear now. The WRR's website says "cancelled" because the game has been moved to Palmerston North!
The game will now be played at CET Arena. Kick-off is at 2.30pm.Wellington Rugby has posted their first and second half line-ups:
I haven't been able to find any news about the NZ U20s. -

@bovidae funny that they refer to the Wellington team as the NPC team, it’s more of a barbarians side made up of Wellington club players.
Looks like plenty of quality in both 20s sides. Shame this isn’t on TV as it would be cool to compare how Love plays at fullback in the first half vs first five in the second half.
-
@canes4life It's a Wellington XV according to the graphic.
There are a few Hurricanes U20 players in the Wellington team who will have a point to prove.
I'm interested to see who the NZ U20 captain will be. One of Gallagher, Withy or Wrampling I would think.

@bovidae Solo is just making his way back from a serious knee injury that threatened to derail his career before it even started, hopefully he can get through the match unscathed.
Ropeti, Halalilo and Webster-Nonu will be keen to make a statement.
Does anyone know if the match is being streamed anywhere?
