Black Caps v Pakistan

@Gunner I don't care about cricket. This is the worst time for me on the Fern.
I'm glad that my cricket loving friends and whanau can watch cricket live at McLean Park though, and if it also annoys BoP fans in the process then that's just a bonus.
oh, I'm not annoyed. It's just another stupid management decision by a national sporting body to spread games around the country because NZers find it too hard to drive a couple of hours up the road.
It's like giving an AB test to Nelson. Oh, wait.
we have decent grounds guys, use them so the world doesn't think we are all quaint villagers.

@KiwiMurph nope...shame they couldnt have nabbed the old lights they just removed from Okara Park, although do they require different lighting levels for night Cricket v night Rugby?

@Gunner does Cobham Oval have lights?
When Shane Jones was handing out money to all the cuzzies up here, they should have hit him up for a few million to get them installed before he got voted out. And a small stadium.
Damn.

We lost the toss (again - get it sorted Kane). Pakistan bowling.
Nice day in The Bay it seems.
Santner is in (hmmm).
Rosco most capped NZ cricketer of all time.
The fuck ????? I’d rather Jordie Barrett get 100 caps on the wing than see him in a test cricket team

Yeah I know. Justification seems to be that he got three wickets at Bay Oval and a ton there I think. They don't don't see Jamieson as an all rounder so he is it. There has only ever been one test at Bay Oval (v England) so hardly a massive sample size to select him. Jamieson may also be a better bat anyway, he was an opener in the past.
I am not convinced at all.

He’s never taken more than three wickets in an innings in quite a few tests.

Santner is an allrounder.
Test averages of 25 and 44.
Jamieson on the other hand averages:
54 and 14.5.
Just to put Santners all rounder statistics in perspective.
The 19 run differential between bat and ball compares to Jacques Kallis who averaged 32 and 55 to make a 23 run differential.

Not quite sure what you are getting at there? That is batting average of 25 and bowling at 44, not the other way around. Basically he doesn't score many runs and doesn't take many wickets per run conceded. That isn't an allrounder, in fact it doesn't qualify as a batsman or a bowler. White ball different story.
Jamieson (small sample size of 4 tests) but batting at 54 and bowling at 14.5 would suggest that he's better at both disciplines.

This post is unintentionally hilarious.

Unintentionally?
I put a lot of thought into that post.

Southee and Boult bring up their 100th innings opening the bowling together, and Stuff has them as second on the all time list.
Stuff thinks Anderson and Broad are first, Wasim and Waqar third, then Ambrose and Walsh, and McGrath and Gillespie.

Actual quote from a typically brilliantly crafted Stuff article.
“I feel like I’ve bowled a lot with Timmy, but not that many times,” he says

I can see why BoP fans would be annoyed.
Why should the Northern Districts Invitational XI have to play any games away from Bay Oval?
It's outrageous!
