Australia v India

3 ODIs
3 T20s
4 TestsFirst ODI this Friday
Kohli is only playing the white ball stuff and the first Test (baby is due)
Smith talks about the short stuff and what Wagner did last season
-
Well if he doesn't have any late mental health withdrawal then surely Will Pucovski gets a white ball start..jeez the guy has been hitting the big runs locally like they are a finite resource.
-
Smith batted supremely. Particularly the first few sessions at Perth we bowled really really well. They Aussie batsmen were just up to the challenge, and managed to survive. You can't begrudge them that- supremely skilful, particuarly in their own conditions.
Damnit, why didn't we get that tour a year earlier when they were a rabble. I am looking forward to India Australia

His technique is superb and I think should at a minimum be in the test side

Davey Warner wants his mate in the side. His mate who consequently makes Davey look better by not scoring runs

Couple of years ago was talking to the Vic coaches about Will. They made the comments that he's the best they've seen. Reckoned he was tracking better than our Kane. They weren't trivialising with one upmanship, but more comparing him to who they thought was a standout progressing through the normal channels.
Of course I told them "strewth mate, don't come the raw prawn with me, our Kane is a dead set."
They replied, "we know but this kid might be something else again"
We shall see I guess -
Aussies won the toss, batting first
1 David Warner, 2 Aaron Finch (capt), 3 Steven Smith, 4 Marnus Labuschagne, 5 Marcus Stoinis, 6 Alex Carey (wk), 7 Glenn Maxwell, 8 Pat Cummins, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Adam Zampa, 11 Josh Hazlewood
1 Shikhar Dhawan, 2 Mayank Agarwal, 3 Virat Kohli (capt), 4 Shreyas Iyer, 5 KL Rahul (wk), 6 Hardik Pandya, 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 Mohammed Shami, 9 Navdeep Saini, 10 Jasprit Bumrah, 11 Yuzvendra Chahal

Aren't they fucking always?
-
-
@antipodean Fozzie?
-
This is only on pay TV here so I've got ABC Radio Grandstand running through the Sonos.
-
Smith just fisted Jadeja's last over for 14 runs. No wait they've called the 6 a 4 - so 12 runs.
. . 4 4 . 4
Meanwhile Finch got into the 90s in reasonable time and is now just watching Smith take India apart.
-
Smith has decided that fucks are not to be given today, getting to 50 off 36 with consecutive 4s.
"Yeah Finchy why don't you just take your time and I'll demoralise the fluffybunnies"
-
Finch puts one away to bring up his 17th ton, then Smith says "Nice" and continues the demolition, striking at 150.
AUS have passed 250 in the 39th over for the loss of 1 wicket.
Send Maxwell in next.

We have been starved of sport and there is some amazing cricket on plus the Northland game. I’m making a pig of myself.
How good was the big show? Some sensational unorthodox shots

You have a Sonos but not pay TV?
-
Big score for the Aussies. Very rare that a team that bats first and two players score a ton, go on and lose an ODI

Big first over from Starc!
-
India's innings falling apart. Run rate down to just over 10.
-
Kohli must have been on his feet and out the door pretty quick there. Crossed over with the departing batsman near the 30m circle...
-
Australia take an early wicket and now firmly in control. Some new chump takes the crease. Anyone heard of this new bloke?
-
Chump gets out. Australia can't lose.
-
Starc gets away with a beamer
-
The Australian top order is rampant. Racked up another massive score last night. India score 338 in a chase and lose by 50!
As an aside, i doubt there is a cricketer in the world i dislike more than Adam Zampa. How can one guy keep finding new ways to look like a whiney little beta? First the headband. Now the mullet/earring combo. And he's a vegan. What a bitch. A jockey sized, slow bowling bitch.

i think a british tabloid expose of Zampa having a dozen pints and then going home with two scrubbers would be very very hard to believe
Adam is more likely to sip a kombucha, meditate, and then spend the evening posting on male feminist blogs

I watched the Aussie innings and up to the 4th wicket of the Indians. Kohli is the first Indian captain I have liked in a long time. Fairly gracious in losing and big-noted the Aussie top order.
Steve Smith though. What a champion. I can watch him bat all day as most shots/blocks has me shaking my head at how unorthodox he is.

Gets some important wickets at important times, I'll say that for him!

last night it was because they needed 17 an over, so every shot was an attempt to clear the rope
he's a handy if not outstanding little player.

The dark side is strong with this one...
Great to see young Mariner, finally cottoning on to how farken soft the youth of today are. Warms me heart.
You can pop down to the back of the bus with us curmugeons anytime you like. Your "fucken paternity leave/birth presence bullshit" might need a bit of work, but there's time and you have potential 🙂 -
