Just having a look at the Black Caps recent test match schedule.

Here's the last time they played the big 4 teams away from home and the results.

    Australia - Dec 2019/Jan 2020 - lost

    South Africa - Aug 2016 - lost

    India - Sept/Oct 2016 - lost

    England - May 2015 - drawn

Not so much the results (as almost all teams have struggled to win away from home in recent years) but the lack of tests away from home against the big guns is really telling.

very reflective of our history leading up to that though.

the fear is, by the time we get on the schedule, we lose to many good players, and get ditched back to the 2nd tier.

@mariner4life yep - and Australia who we have played recently away - we haven't played them at home for nearly 5 years (February 2016).

I feel like India are going to lose a few wickets early on. Hope I am wrong.

    nostradamus.

Good fast ball first up though, and bouncy pitch!

Aussie commentators are the most one sided, irritating set I can remember.

If I could turn them off, I would. Seirously considering muting

I have Waugh, Warne and that other chap that sits on the fence. They're excited but not offensive. In saying that I generally like the Aussie comms

Have you got Warne, Howie and Waugh? Can’t stand any of them and I’m at the office where it’s only Fox Sports and no free to air.

I quite like Ponting commentating. He’s measured and has good insights without it being about him

    @NTA @Hooroo @ACT-Crusader got Warne et al.

Warne (to the edge that looked short): that looks like it carried by the body language

    video: it doesn't carry

Will try a dodgy stream to get Ponting ... got to be better.

What's the thinking on the decision to bat first in a day/night test?

    Good idea or bad idea?

Indians are batting like they are in NZ. They hate it when it moves around.

I think it did carry and he didn't get across to it. It landed after the glove I reckon.

Edit. No where near first slip but

He's just basically called the first three overs of the bowling plan, even the shorter ball to Agarwal just now.

Pointing calls the game, not the fucking horse shit like Warne

Good idea. These games tend to come down to timing - you need to avoid batting at dusk if at all possible. You can't turn down a chance to bat in the day.
