Fainga'anuku has been great under the high ball. And strong.

Yep, he’ll be a big star in the future.

That's a bollocks penalty. And we haven't caught a contestable ball all night. A work on for next week

the irony of the comms talking about players not throwing the ball away so a 9 can take a quick tap when Christie took a quick one....

why??? SOmuch pointless kicking from teams this year in the 22

All the way from the All Blacks to the Mitre 10 Cup - it's an epidemic. BoP would love to be 16-10 down with the ball on attack, as they were before Black kicked it away.

Christie's box kicking has been super effective.

Auckland v Ta$man final. Probably one of the weaker yet more interesting finals in recent memory.

Well done Ta$man, did what you needed.

Hard luck BOP, had your chances but lacked accuracy and a good bounce here and there.

Pretty poor game in the end. Ta$man got back every box luck they made so they just kept doing it and we never had enough ball. We were poor when we had the ball. Ah well better than being relegated.

@Donsteppa You're lucky Hames isn't an AR. BOP boy isn't he?

    Also got chequebooked by Ta$man.

BOP has done OK this season with NZR's chequebook.

    Arse.

Some random thoughts at the end. The margin was about what I expected, but a lower scoring game. Pleased to see Hori made it, but glad I didn’t join his planned convoy south in the end. 🙂

Ta$man’s general kicking game was as as exceptional as ours was poor. Was instructive to see Black as captain (apparently?) subbed towards the end for Hollinshead.

Webber has been one of our absolute stars this year, but Ta$man targeted him effectively.

Mitch Karpik is a legend for the Steamers. It’s always a relief to see him near the ball when the opposition is on attack, he’s a tackling machine.

A few of the younger players will be even better for the experience this season, Trask, Van Den Hoven, Dickson, and Narawa in particular.

Will be interesting to see whether Ta$man’s structure or Auckland’s less structured flair wins out next week.

Well fk me, disappointed. If you get that ref in the final worth about 7 points to Ta$man.

We made some bad decisions with ball in hand and it cost us at times but well done @Chris-B and fans, enjoy your final.

Only consolation was hunt kicking for touch at the end so my multi rolls on, hopefully my cherries fill up my bank account later tonight

    Booo

I don’t imagine it’s a tough choice for the Sevens boys to live in the Mount 🙂
