The Nets shut down Ben Simmons for the season. He is the ultimate wage thief
Where is that 100x upvote button when I need it
He's lucky he plays in the NBA with its guaranteed money contracts

Motherfucker!!!
Goddamn being in the West right now.
I bet we lose Luka.
Lose Luka??? Whaddya mean?
No way in hell he gets traded, you mean when he’s a FA in 26-27???
Suns look seriously scary to me. Lakers got better, but damn the Suns man.
Would love to see a Boston v Bucks and Suns v Dallas CFs
Luka now unhappy…
I reckon Cuban would be the worst person to ask for a trade from too…
He sold Nash years ago and still regrets it to this day. Luka ain't going anywhere
He didn’t want to pay Brunson either. If we play the rewind button, that’s where things started going wrong for this year.

I do sort of get why too. For me in Dallas Brunson isn’t a $25+ mill a season player. At the Knicks he is because he gets to do and also has to do so much more.
I think the biggest mystery is the whole handling of Christian Wood.

@canefan his back is screwed
They should have known this when they traded for him. Didn't he just recover from back trouble with Philly?

You talking about 8-teams-in-9-seasons Wood? Maybe there’s something in that?

Not sure what you are getting at here. Harden wanted out and they needed to find a way to get him out or else they would’ve had no one.
The nerve issue came back when he was playing with the Nets - hence his limited ability to move.

Is that a statement win for the Celtics?
Or just another a regular season anomaly?

It's a heck of a statement, and lights out for any MVP hope Giannis was clinging to. Boston are now just 2 games back, have the easier run in, and and hold the tiebreak over the Bucks
Hell of a line from Tatum, 40 & 8 on 12-18 shooting and zero turnovers.

Mavs suck. Who could have thought that adding Kyrie would make them even worse at defense?
Right, I just watched the 2nd half of the Mavs v Hawks. And you know what? I have fallen right off the Luka wagon.
Like all the way off, I'm waving it goodbye into the sunset, I might never again get on it.
Today Kyrie was in one of those moods. In the 4th quarter alone, he had 14 points with only 1 missed shot, including the last 6 Dallas points including a sweet move for the tying shot with 35 seconds to go. Brought them all the way back.
Atlanta come down and score on a lucky tip to go up 2 (yeah Dallas still can't rebound)
So 20 seconds to tie or go ahead, you go to the hot hand right? Or at least involve him in the play somehow, right?
Nah
Luka demands the ball at the inbounds, dribbles the clock to 3 seconds, makes a shit drive right and throws a bail out cross court pass to Wood on the wing who is well covered.
It was so fucking selfish, I couldn't believe it. Weak coaching from Kidd too.
And of course Luka whined all game and had multiple defensive lapses (did anyone hear Lowe tell the story of a scout telling him that Luka is the worst transition defender in the HISTORY of the league??!!)
Yeah, Kyrie is an odd guy and not a great defender. But this is Luka's team. How about he turns up to the season opener not needing to "play himself into shape". How about he sets the tone on D with some fucking effort? How about he gets back on D after a miss instead of whining at the refs every single fucking time? How about he show some class and reward a teammate when he's hot and give his team the best chance of winning a game?
Sorry Luka, I'm out on you (I'm sure you'll be devastated to hear that).
As an aside, how come the Mavs never run a Luka-Kyrie pick and roll at the top? Surely that would create some awesome matchup issues, they can both pop or roll to the rim, you can't cheat under. I haven't watched many of their games this year so maybe they do run that a bit, but they sure didn't today - it's all penetrate and kick, over and over
-
@voodoo the irony of that sequence is that if Luka allows the ball to go to Kyrie to make a play or at least wait for him to get the double team, Luka probably gets the ball back for the shot.
He’s cracked the sads big time and prime whingy Luka is back in full effect.
Kyrie is Mr 4th quarter. For everything that is warped and weird, that boy knows how score in the final 12.
-
@ACT-Crusader did you see the last 2 buckets Kyrie had? The first was one of those wild dribble drives finished with a sublime contested reverse layup, and the 2nd was a straight-out-of-the-textbook pull-up jumper in the lane. The latter was almost more beautiful, the separation he got from such a simple move done perfectly at insane speed was just amazing.

So the 10 teams in the East are sorted, just need to sort out the order of 6-9. I think Bulls will finish 10th.
Nets currently in 6th but only a game ahead of the Heat. The Hawks and Raptors are both on 40-39 and Hawks have the tie breaker.
Nets have @Pistons, Magic, Philly. Prediction 3-0; 46-36; 6th
Heat have @Philly, @Wizards and Magic. Prediction 2-1; 44-38; 7th
Hawks have Wizards, Philly, @Celtics. Prediction 1-2; 41-41; 8th
Raptors have @Celtics, @Celtics, Philly. Prediction 1-2; 41-41; 9th
Bulls have @Bucks, @Mavs, Pistons. Prediction 2-1; 40-42; 10th -

Fucking Mavs. I somewhat understand why they did what they did tonight, but this team should never have gone down this road. To bitch out like that is some shit.
