Final day of the regular season, and first string players will be watching everywhere
In the West the play-ins were decided a while back, with the T-Wolves hosting the Clippers in the "major" and Pels hosting the Spurs in the "minor". Clippers suddenly look really good and i expect them to win. Spurs will win too if Murray is healthy.
Nets v Cavs and Hawks v Hornets in the East
After that the fun starts.
Oh, interesting stat i just read. Trey Young the first person to lead the league in total points and total assists in a single season in both the NBA and the NCAA

cool story
now do it for the 31 games Paul George was available.
also what was the head to head this year? 3-1?

@mariner4life You know the rules, you pick the stats that support what you want!

Looks like Frank Vogel has been fired as Lakers coach. It's not really his fault that they assembled such a flawed team, but as always it is easier to fire the coach than get rid of the players. This will not be the end of the pain, as LBJ AD and Westbrick command a huge chunk of salary which will hamper any attempts to retool

On January 6 Celtics were the 11th seed in the East.
They finish the season the 2nd seed in the East.
Impressive turnaround.
Tatum has averaged more than 28 ppg in that stretch including a couple of big 50+ point games. Their defence has been impressive and Marcus Smart leading the offence has made a huge difference.
In a playoff defensive slog, they will miss Williams III

And for their efforts, they'll likely get the honour of playing Brooklyn. They'd have been much better off dropping a spot and getting Chicago.
Will be a wicked series for the neutral though. Tatum v Durant, Smart trying to guard Kyrie. Brown could. The difference.
Edit - meant to add, I think the reason they didn't try to drop is that they couldn't afford to risk dropping to 4th where they would get the Raptors - too many unvaxxed guys (Brown and Horford I believe)

Nets as expected take care of the Cavs
Kyrie cooking with 34 and 12
Durant with 25 and 11 -

Cavs were trying so hard at the death but the Nets just kept that 7-point buffer in a really professional way.

very physical game
both teams bashing in to each other
-
lol 45 fouls not even halfway through the last quarter
-
And here comes Minny. They've stormed into the lead on the back of some good defence and shooting by the other players not named KAT, capped off by a monster slam from Anthony Edwards. I've not seen much of him but he is some player. PG13 has had an excellent game. But all of a sudden they are looking clipsy...
-
great game but Minny look home on the back of Russell and especially Edwards late
George had a big 2nd half but no help and that last shot was a stinker
How fucking good is playoff NBA? Some of the play i have seen today has been awesome.
Lol and as i speak PG fumbles and then drains one from teh carpark. too little too late though

@mariner4life meanwhile Towns can only look on and wonder who has the most pea sized heart between him and AD
