This kid is going to be good one day, you heard it here first

After complaining about the play-in last year, I bet Lebron's happy it's around this season.
getting smoked by the Pelicans at home is pretty funny
Golden State with an epic choke 4th quarter lose to the Mavs
Suns lose
The Harden/Embiid sixers roll on -

At this point LeBron is just a stat padder - basically zero effort on defence, awful body language. Just puts up a bunch of empty stats.

He's waiting for a possible reload next season I guess. This one is over

@gt12 less whinging too from Doncic.
Wiggins was terrible in the 4th.
It was actually sad watching the Lakers especially Russ. He’s always been an effort guy and play with pace, but he is trying way too hard and has lost confidence. The rest of the Lakers aren’t great. Monk has genuine talent but this system is destroying his game.
-
@act-crusader I saw Russ had 0 assists and 7 turnovers at the half....that's not so flash..
I do feel for him - he's insanely frustrating the way he has just never learned to play within himself, to put away the 3-ball etc, but its also really hard to dislike a guy that plays with that much fire.
-
I'll put my hand up and admit I was wrong about the Russ trade. I knew all his history, but I just thought, I had to think, that before any trade was consumated, that LeBron would have sat in a room with him and had a conversation along the lines of "bro - you can't shoot 3's, you know that, right? Your role is to run the 2nd unit, to feed AD, to run the break and to bring the intensity. I'm gonna play 28mpg for the regular season and take every 3rd game off. We just need to finish top 6 and we'll make a mad run at the title. You got this?"
Any yet here he is, jacking 3.5 3's per game at 29% and turning it over at a crazy rate. I get AD has been injured, and there's hardly been a steady period where the 3 of them have played together, but it's pretty disappointing to see zero progress and awareness

I like Russ, but his play is an all or nothing style. He actually needs to be the man and have the shooters around him. The way he played with Beal for example in the second half of last season was pretty phenomenal. The way he played with PG and Melo and some half decent pieces in OKC was great also.
I don’t agree with the “he hasn’t bought in” talk, I just think for him it was always going to be very hard to change his game when he was so dominant and then you’re in a system when you are potentially third wheel.

Your last para. I just don't get how a bunch of seasoned vets, plus a front office and an ownership group, just don't talk openly about this stuff. How do they not plan for how it might work and decide if they want to go for it? It's really odd to me.
-
@voodoo it’s LA and the bright lights. Pelinka seems more concerned about his fake tan than the hard stuff that Operations VPs have to do.
The look on the faces of the coaching staff throughout todays game was bizarre as if they are shocked this would happen.
-
@act-crusader maybe they thought the job was done after winning the bubble championship? LBJ seemed pretty happy with the team at the start of the season, so I can only assume the team was constructed with his input and or blessing. But it is so flawed; they sent the only spark guy away in Caruso and a good young player in Kuzma who had shown he can score before LBJ arrived and brought in a bunch of older guys. There is little option but to blow it up and start again
-
astounding to hear the Lakers home crowd booing, and it was off an LBJ turnover as well
Westbrick is the easy target. he's new. Big contract, and yes not playing well. Pea hearted Day to Davis never fucking plays, and when he does he's shit. LBJ is, as someone has already pointed out, basically playing for himself, and doing it poorly. Yep, getting his 30-odd a game, but turning it over a heap, and playing one way. The rest of the roster is old past it guys, or dudes who aren't good enough. The Lakers are done.
And the general consensus among Lakers fans seems to be, LBJ is gone (don't fucking do it Cleveland) and they seem to say good riddance. They got their championship out of it, time to move on. Because without serious trades in the offseason next year isn't going to be any better.
They are really lucky that the bottom of the West is pretty weak, or they would seriously be looking at an 11th place finish.
-
@mariner4life I would consider getting rid of AD. He is too fragile and too passive to build a team around
-
Ja Morant may not be Al Iverson (yet)
But he's really fucking good at the basketballs. Today he detonated the Spurs for 50Including this evil dunk
-
@mariner4life they were two very sick plays
