@mariner4life I don't watch a huge amount of ball but across a season I'll see a smattering of most teams, plus highlights, and the only bloke I'd heard of was Toppin.
I agree there are only so many ways to dunk the ball, but on top of that, they're all sacrificing power for trickery and it's a shit watch. Next year I'd like to see Zion, Tacko Fall, Steven Adams and Giannis just try and spray glass all over which ever shit rappers happen to be near the hoop.

I tried watching the All Star game but I have had to give up. Sport without competition is boring for me.

looks like the only thing worth looking at, from the highlights i've seen on the 'gram
Is Steph lighting that shit up from 3. 13 threes from 18 attempts. Frankly ridiculous

@shark @mariner4life best thing about the dunk comp was Steph Curry and 2Chainz laughing at Jalen Green’s multiple failed false starts.
3pt contest was good and I didn’t mind the team skills challenge concept.
The Italian high jumper getting a rebound dunk and another jam was worth watching in the celebrity game.
The final quarter in todays all-star game plus a few of Steph’s tough 3’s were the only good thing about the game. Could this be the thing that gets Steph going for the run to the playoffs?

Yeah I saw a couple of minutes of the celeb game and was fortunate to see that put back dunk from the high jumper. Not bad. I think the commentary of that game was the worst of the events I saw though. Just ludicrously over-excited.
Now you know how we all feel listening to TJ calling Crusaders games.

NYC signalling the end of the vaccination mandates
Kyrie back full time real soon
Wonder how quick they can get that Nets team on the same page?

And we're back today with 7 games.
These days the season only really gets going now. 23-game sprint to the playoffs. And with Chris Paul now out until at least the start of the post-season, it's looking wide open everywhere.
Good luck picking who comes out of the East.
In the West it's still looking like it's either the Suns or the Warriors. But in all honesty, i am starting to think the Warriors might be cooked, so as long as they get Paul back, they are still the team to beat. -
Warriors going deep into the playoffs rests on Draymond’s health/availability. His defence and game management is irreplaceable. Plus a lineup of Green, Looney, Wiggins, Curry, Klay has every single base covered and at a high level.
Paul’s injury sucks. I’m not a huge fan, but he has had some tough luck throughout his career. Booker played Kobe-esque today.
The Memphis v Minnesota game was fun to watch today. The T-Wolves have talent and when D-Russ and KAT are locked in with their supporting cast playing well, they are a genuine spoiler team.
On paper the Nets (when heathy) have a ridiculous roster. Rated in order (with their two decent rookies that get time).
1-KD
2-Kyrie
3-Simmons
4-Aldridge
5-Seth Curry
6-Harris
7-Drummond
8-Mills
9-Blake
10-Johnson
11-Dragic
12-Claxton
13-BrownBut chemistry is going to be a massive problem with limited time together of some of these guys. Patty Mills has gone completely cold too which is not great.

Are we sure that's still a great play off team? Draymond isn't what he used to be, he's been a sub-300 3pt shooter for years now which has resulted in a massive loss in confidence and spacing has shrunk. He now takes just 1 per game. Add to that Looney has been played off the court in serieseseses before, and Wiggins is, well, Wiggins. I like Poole, but I dunno about this team going deep. They certainly feel a few steps behing the Sun's, and I wouldn't feel comfortable backing them against Dallas, Denver, Memphis even. Maybe even a healthy LA!
-
It'll be real interesting now to see how we go without Paul. I like to think the impact he's had on the roster isn't just via his own on court performances and we'll see a more mature team cope without him. It's certainly a deep enough roster and there are still some older heads especially among the bigs. Yesterday Book posted some big numbers vs OKC and Cam Johnson stepped up for Paul on offense so looks good at the moment.

@voodoo lol a healthy LA
Even healthy that roster is fucked
Is he talking about the Clippers? Because the Lakers are a busted flush

I wouldn't want to meet them in round 1. They could still be anything.

@voodoo your dislike of Steph coming through 😃
Healthy LA might make some noise in a play in game 😎
Draymond was easily the r best defensive player in the league before he got injured. His confidence had returned from what we saw last season where he was low on it. But he was playing the house down and influencing the game in so many ways.
Not concerned about his 3pt game given Wiggins is so proficient these days and they have a small lineup that includes Poole who likes to light it up.
Add in the other bench pieces and their system, they have the defensive game to trouble those offensive teams like the Suns and Memphis.

Get out of here, I love Steph, and I love Klay more. Draymond is still a very good passer, and instrumental in there game, but when he only shoots 1 x 3pg, he hurts their spacing. It's not about someone else making 3s, is about people leaving him alone on the perimeter and collapsing on the others. He's also sub-600 for FT% which isn't particularly good...
