Looooool Lebron
Jesus christ how can someone so good at this sport come across as such a petulant bitch all the time
Apparently thr only reason the Warriors and Suns are at the top is because they are the only teams not affected by illness and injury
The Warriors, no injuries...
LOL yes, and the Suns just went through a patch without all of Ayton, McGee and Crowder. What a fucktard.

Great to see Klay back on the court after consecutive big injuries.
What will be interesting is how he plays with the second unit which all of them are different to when he last played in the 2019 finals run.
The mechanics of that jumper still look awesome though.

@act-crusader and that dunk!
And for anyone who missed this:

@voodoo Ja’s certainly on a tear at the moment. Not an AI level one, but maybe a Derrick Rose Bulls-like one 😉
Great seeing Stevie Adams make important contributions. His passing has taken a step up this season. Not sure about stats per game/48 mins, but to my eye he is the best offensive rebounder in the league. It’s the way he anticipates and then uses his feet to get to the ball.

I'm still calling it - check out the Year 3 comparison:
AI: 26.8 / 4.9 / 4.6 on .41 / .29 / .75 shooting, with 2 steals
JA: 24.7 / 5.7 / 6.7 on .49 / .38 / .77 shooting, with 1.4 stealsUncanny similarity, both absolute warriors. No question Ja is on the right path and has what it takes - biggest query will be whether he can stay healthy as he seems to have a total disregard for his body!
As for Adams, he is averaging 6 offensive rebounds per 36mins - #1 in the league ahead of Drummond (5.7) & McGee (5.2)

I think Adams always had these skills. He's just played with teams who didn't let him showcase them

Hope Ja can stay healthy and also adjust his shot slightly.
AI played with that reckless abandon too and amazing he still got probably 12 highly productive seasons and then the final 3 were still pretty good. So hopefully we get to see as much as Ja.

I think being skinny and light can be a huge advantage for longevity.
Makes Lebron's longevity at a super explosive 260lbs even more astonishing.

LBJ is a phenomenal athlete combined with meticulous professionalism in preparation.

@mariner4life Yep. I saw a stat yesterday re the best scoring years achceived by 37 year olds and he's around 5ppg ahead of the next best (think it was KAJ), and he's only around 1ppg off the scoring title. Phenomenal is right.

apparently he leads the "most points scored by a player aged [x]" for every single age bracket there is. I guess Kareem would be closing in on the latter age groups at some point if LeBron slows down

@shark I may not like the bloke, but anyone who tries to say he isn't in the top handful to ever play the game is deluded.
Just say it, it won't hurt you, you can still hate him - he's clearly #2.

What I’ll say is that given AI spent half his career on the hardwood after being knocked to the ground hard drive after hard drive, I’m still astonished he didn’t have more injuries with the knocks he took.
If you are largely a perimeter player and skinny (and can shoot) sure you could get JJ Reddick type years but the ability for skinny guys to take all the knocks would be pretty hard. I remember years ago when Isaiah Thomas was still playing and a graphic came up of him and showed all the injuries he had to his body. It was crazy.

I’ve often thought that Lebron will be quite different to MJ in how their careers finish. I can’t see Lebron having a couple of ‘Washington years’. He’ll either be the man or not. That’s not a slight on him just that they are different. Given his mates have either retired or about too, the only thing is him holding on to possibly play with his son!!!

and he is massively driven by legacy and the worlds perception of him, probably more so than any other player past or present!

Agreed in my opinion
My phrasing was more around the old dudes who swear by their generation

MJ at the Wizards isn't even bad when you factor everything in

Just to clarify, we're talking 2nd behind Tim Duncan right?
