I just tuned in late to watch a rollicking end to the cavs hawks game. Trae Young is amazing. Everything runs through him on offense just like his draft day trade mate Luca. Like Luca he is so smooth and more often than not makes good decisions and has all the shots. Atlanta will erase a double digit half time deficit to advance at the expense of the young cavs who had a season that exceeded expectations

I still love playoff NBA, but man the end of close games are hard to watch. The endless FT's kill me. I'd like to see the "intentional foul" rule back, 2 FT's plus the ball back if someone fouls you when not making a genuine play for the ball. And maybe a second tier of team fouls in a quarter, where the penalty gets worse (either 3FT's per foul or 2FTs plus ball back)
I dunno what the answer is, but when the last 25 seconds of a close game lasts 15 minutes, it's not good for the sport.
-
@voodoo and I think it’s gotten worse. Today being down 9 with 40 seconds to go is seen as very gettable given the way teams shoot the 3 - and it doesn’t have to be T-Mac vs Spurs crazy either!
Not sure what the answer is either but it can’t be too contrived that it’s different from how the rest of the game is officiated.
Love the intensity in most of the playoff games so far. Good to see a bit of niggle too.

This celtics v Nets series is going to be epic
And it's only the first round!

Could only watch bits and pieces, but the fact that only lost by 1 away from home and the parts I watched KD was struggling with his shot, should give the Nets a bit of confidence.
I do like the Celts though. From that time after Kyrie left and Tatum and Brown were basically competing with each other on who was the man and both were playing some very selfish basketball. Now they play very good team ball and Smart is a huge reason for that.

Steph with a nicely efficient 34 points in 23 minutes
12 of 17 from the field.

This game was very much like ‘the old Warriors’. Was quite fun to watch in the background trying to work!
Splash bro’s + Pool(e) went 13 for 28 from 3. There’s no helping off or you will get scored on.

Dragic has come off the bench breathing fire.
This is a good game

went in to a meeting
who got hot for the Celtics in the 4th? And who stepped up on D?
-
interesting day
Celtics come from behind to hold serve
Bulls take one on the road off the Bucks on the back of 41 from DeRozan
Sixers get it done on the road. -
@mariner4life Bucks could be in trouble. Middleton has a sprained MCL.

I didn't watch, but I think it was more a case of the Nets bottling it (plus good D) than Boston getting hot.KD went 0-10 second half with 4 turnovers - yikes!

I just finished watching the game. Both teams played excellent defence. But the Celtics were very successful in putting Durant and Irving off their games with active hands and physical D, they were relentless. There was so much on the ball defence, and apart from a dream offensive quarter from Dragic the Nets didn't seem to have anyone really step up. By contrast the Celtics got valuable contributions from Williams, Horford, and Brown. Tatum didn't have a great shooting game until late, but he was very active with assists for much of the game.

Team defence from Celts was excellent. They have size and threw multiple bodies at him. They clipped him on screens, they had two defenders contesting his mid range, the switching was good.
Pritchard played very well for the Celts. In fact offensively they just made a run in the 4th and never looked back.
One thing that showed in this game was that the Nets really don’t know how to play together. They haven’t clicked. As a result KD and Kyrie need to play big, all the time. Now they are capable of that because they are damn good players, but it’s a lot of pressure.
-
@ACT-Crusader once the Cs shut down KD and Irving, the Nets offense freezes. They can't free the 2 stars up for shots and the supporting cast can't consistently get free for shots, or consistently make them when they do

Warriors win despite being away and Jokic being big
Dallas and Memphis win well away to take the lead in their series
