Bat till they're all out unless they get past 500 or the pitch will turn into a road tomorrow.
I know it looks lush, but the last few years pitches in NZ look like green monsters but really just don't seam like they look like they will.
The grass is there to keep something in the pitch but doesn't make it unplayable early.

ridden his luck with the short ones though.
Two dropped at fine leg and more than one miscue.Yep. If the Windies could catch this would all look very different but he isn't going to duck or sway so what do you do? Have 5 men scattered around the square leg boundary and keep bowling short? You could try bowling full, or even a good length to him.

Yes. We have seen that before - re the pitch, so keep going for now and really push the run rate seems like the correct stategy so that we bowl today with plenty on the board.
@booboo I said the same thing in the last match thread. These aren't minefield pitches and I love them. Something for the bowlers but the great batsmen (Kane) can still deal with it. A bit of lateral movement, consistent bounce, quick enough too. Our groundspeople are doing a fantastic job I reckon.

spot on - and takes time out of today too, so the bowlers can share 30 odd overs, have good spells and come back tomorrow fresh.

Ball 1 goes for 6
Off on another tangent.
Why did we need to wait to check if the ball went for 6?
It was over the boundary so it was either 4 or 6.
Play could have continued as there was no need to change anything, just let the Third Umpire alert the scorers when they've checked and confirmed it.
