This I think is the funniest thing I have read all day.
-

There is absolutely no way Josh Dugan has either the talent, or the personal drive or determination or discipline to make that cross over. He doesn't have the physical gifts either. He is fucking dreaming.

That fluffybunny is dumb as a sack of hammers though, so it's not surprising to hear him make stupid remarks
-

Jarryd Hayne 'real money' NFL pay day at $40,600 a week with San Francisco 49ers

Surrounded by players living the lifestyles of the rich and famous, Jarryd Hayne has been getting by sharing a hotel room in the remote California town of Santa Clara on the weekly wage of an apprentice plumber.

Since joining the San Francisco 49ers in April, Hayne, who was on close to A$1 million (NZ$1.1m) a season with the Parramatta Eels in the NRL, has been waiting each week for $600 to roll into his account.

.....

While Hayne is expected to earn millions in endorsement deals following his successful transition, his three-year deal with the 49ers is worth US$1.58m, (NZ$2.5m) which means his first genuine pay day this week will yield US$25,588 (NZ$40,630).

Less than the Eels... until you consider teh $12M endorsements likely to flow his way.

Think about this: which other Australian is getting air time in NZ, Aus, USA and the rest of the world? Name recognition --> $$$$

he will be swimming in it. And good for him, a massive long shot just came home.
-

Another thing that is in Haynes money making favour is that he seems likeable unlike so many of those eggs in League.

I am yet to see anyone talk him down and hope he didn't make it.

Imagine if that tall dude with the big fro that played for the bulldogs, if he had tried to do the same in his prime, most would be hoping for failure
-

He might not be dressed for the game from what I read from some of the 49ers beat writers.
-

For those in Aussie who are interested - https://ussportsdownunder.com/australian-nfl-tv-guide/

*Edit - that link hasn't worked for some reason, it's the Australian NFL TV Guide down the bottom of the page which I was trying to share....
-

Lovely, Americans will think NRL means Naked Rugby League.

Oh you mean he won't be playing, nevermind.
-

Being American sport - I wonder if the son of the owners, 49ers CEO Jed York, gets in the ear of coach Tomsula and 'suggests' he give Hayne some game time....

That is certainly very possible. Happening in DC right now with RG3 still being on the team due to the owner
-

Yeah I'm waiting for the NRL media to collapse under the weight of its own circle-jerk. Like they were somehow personally responsible for Hayne busting his arse to get onto the roster.

The dynamic for NFL will be interesting. Australia isn't a huge market for the sport, but , but it offers them another avenue for raising a bit of capital, so maybe they'll start to look at it a bit.

The thing though is the 3 hours to see 25 seconds of your favourite player.
-

Good to go with 10 gents. I have no idea who teams 9 and 10 are but if they turn out to be nuts or something I can always boot them.

NZ Tab represented by two blokes (teams 7 and so you know the odds now beat them etc.

Speaking of that I was looking through division winner odds yesterday and liked Dolphins to win East and Chiefs in West, both around $5 I think.
-

Draft is done and I got AP, Lacy and Beastmode. Rest of my team sucks but getting the top 3 players in the draft is cool.

And Dugan in the NFL....pfft, tell him he's dreaming.

Marty Kapow is also wanting to try out for a NFL team. He might have a better chance plus I wouldn't want to be the person to tell him he's dreaming.
-

Annnddd the NFL season is officially underway with Tom Brady and his lawyer leading the Pats to a 28-21 win, with a bit of help from the Gronk. Brady 4 TDs of which Gronk caught three and Roger Goodell is having a hissy fit somewhere.
