UHB, I have a suggestion for a quiz which could be quite difficult. The ABs who scored the last 4-pt try and the first 5-pt try. I doubt anyone would know who scored the last 3-pt try in 1971 and the first 4-pt try in 1972. Neither are well-known ABs.

Back to UHBs quiz re the 4 ways of scoring I was coninced that a Cantab fullback of the late 60s had done it. But no. World record but no try.

I've had the 2011 and 1987 AB squad quizzes up for some time now and plenty of people have taken them.
 
Haven't however done one for the 1991,1995,1999,2003 and 2007 squads as would rather forget!

More so the 93 side that lost. Complete with Alan Prince showing the least class I've seen on a rugby field - & I've seen Jerry Collins piss on one.

Don't think I'd have too much trouble locating the last 4 point and first 5 point try as I remember when the change was made.
 
I remember playing a game just before the change over and drawing it 12-12 (we scored a converted try and two penalties and the opposition had 4 penalties), and as it was for a local trophy thinking I wouldn't have minded the new scoring coming in a bit early

I don't know why I know this but Kit Fawcett (he of the "gonna score more off the field than on" comment in 76) scored the last goal from a mark in world rugby for Waikato against Manawatu about a week before the law change.
 
I know who scored the first 5 point try in tests and remember that the first 4 point try was also scored against the same opposition - but not by the AB's.
 
Unless my memory is totally wrong though I reckon the AB that scored the first 5 pointer is reasonably well known. Dual code/dual international.
 
I remember the opponents where we scored the last 4 pointer but who it was - no idea - we ran up a cricket score. Everyone scored. I was at the game but by the end of it I's had about 16 beers and lost track.

What year was this, Dogmeat? The last goal from a mark for the ABs was in 1963.

You are correct, both were scored against Aust.

Same with the first 5 pointer. I remember Quinn saying as it was scored something like and that's one for the history books and explaining the first 4 pointer was also scored against Oz. 
It wasn't Wilson though Milk.

Before my Waikato viewing. I had a quick look at my copy of The Might Of Mooloo. Fawcett's goal from the mark was actually against Wairarapa Bush. Waikato's only points in a 7-3 loss. Nice trivia tidbit though, dogmeat.

I couldn't even remember him. Had to go and look him up at allblacks.com and then I recalled him. That site definitely says he scored the first 4 point try in test rugby but a bit more research shows that the Aussies conceded a 4 point try in their preceding test in Nov 1971.
 
So obviously when all blacks say first in test rugby they mean by anyone that doesn't reek of garlic and smoke Gitanes.
 
However you are quite right he did score first 4 pointer for a team that really knows how to play rugby

I think I've worked out who scored our last 3 pointer. Helped by boo fixing the point in time for me. 
 
I was at that game too if I'm right. I was spewing because if they'd had 4 point try's we'd have won the series although TBF we weren't even good emough to come second.

Nope. The ABs that scored the first 3 pt try, the first and last 4 pt try and first 5 pt try all played in different positions. No more clues. :)
