One I've never heard of

Ian Clarke? Ron Elvidge? Bob Stuart? All before my time.I misspelt Randell - sorry Taine - so didn't get that.
For some reason I had forgotten about Reuben Thorne as well...I just have a poor memory I guess.

@dogmeat Yeah didn't get him either. Bit strange that I have never heard of him. 26 matches, 9 tests,10 matches as Captain. Even toured the republic and played the Lions. Before my time but I've usually heard about guys with that sort of record.
-
@snowy I think the early 50's are not very well known.
Most keen rugby nuts will know about 49 tour but it seems , and is certainly the case for me, that from then until we got our revenge in 56 it's a bit of a black hole. I checked we hosted the Lions and Australia and toured Oz and Europe in those seven years.
I got the captain of both series against the Lions/tour Europe but never heard of this bugger

Updated World Rugby Player of the year quiz.
Not convinced 2017 winner was the best call mind you!

Gave some thought when I originally made this quiz to do it from the start of the All Blacks but thought it would be too hard. Even then doing it from WW2 onwards means that some of the 50s captains in particular are probably a bit forgettable.
Open to doing an expanded captains quiz though.

I missed out on one of the captains.
BECAUSE YOU MISSED OUR THIRD MOST CAPTAIN OF ALL TIME Boo!!!

I'm confused. Did I miss 50 AB tests over last few years? The guy showing up as second most tests as captain. What am I missing there? Pretty sure I know who it should be but it didn't take my answer.

Crikey - 2nd most. That particular player was moved out of the top 5 capped forwards this year. Pesky formatting. Apologies and now fixed!

I only know of him due to he and I growing up in the same house - albeit 60-70 years apart...
