@gt12 Yep.
I love his box kicking and pass so he could be a proper weapon for Dmac at 10.

@gt12 nah I believe @Steven-Harris said he had a good source that Nock is heading to the Chiefs.
Then I am pleased. I wonder if that means that Weber is moving on? He’s yet to be re-signed @Stargazer ?
It's time for Weber to move on tbh. We've got Roe and possibly Nock. Unsure what TTT is up to.

McWhannell should not be signed, we should keep Finau and Ah Kuoi ahead of him.
We still need another lock in the squad as I wouldn't want Finau (or Brown) to be considered a real option at lock. Both are more suited to 6.

Shouldn't Finau take Brown's spot? Or is he staying? If we have to keep Brown and lose Finau, I'll be pissed.
With BBBR, Vaii, and Lord, we should have enough height so Ah Kuoi and Finau as 6/locks wouldn't be too bad,
However, I do agree about another lock, despite his background and my assessment of his character, Selby Rickett would make a nice bench lock / lock for the rotation as well.
I just don't want to end up carrying McWhannell for another year, so he should go to a WTG (at absolute best) or be moved on.
-
Most squads carry 5 locks. I assume Brown is still contracted and he appears to be one of the leaders.
Agree about McWhannell. He needs to play a full season for Waikato to prove his fitness. Finau could take his position. Someone will also have to replace L Boshier too.

There was a dig at TTT in the Stuff article on the AB naming suggesting that after his one season selection he partied way too hard over the summer and burned some bridges. Could be gossip, could be the reason why even at the Chiefs he fell out of favour.

If we are carrying Brown as a lock, our problems are just as likely to continue then.

@ploughboy I am really hoping naholo Jr gets over his injuries obviously the chiefs value him hence why he has been training with the team this year he could give us the xfactor we need out wide
I'm still not sure I believe the hype over Naholo the younger.
-
@nepia Yep, he got a lot of media attention during his 1st XV days, because he scored a lot of tries and had an AB brother, but the fact is that he only finished try scoring opportunities created by some brilliant players inside him: Fakatava, Toala and especially McClutchie. I haven't seen him shine that much for Taranaki. I'm still on the fence.

agree 100% with that. in his half game last year he looked the most dangerous winger.the piece of the puzzle we are lacking
-
Kini is more like Nareki and Reece in size so not your typical big Fijian winger. He needs to get on the field and injuries seem to run in that family.
@ploughboy Wrampling to replace Poihipi in the squad? He is a midfielder who can play on the wing. Sullivan was finally given an opportunity and did nothing wrong so it would be harsh to let him go instead.

@nepia the one game he played for the chiefs for like five minutes he looked very dangerous
Yep, that 5 minutes doesn't really lead me to reevaluate my thought.
Hopefully he does live up to it if he keeps being selected for the Chiefs.

Similar story when Naholo played for NZ Schools in 2017 - the NZ backline was stacked - Etene Nanai, Quinn Tupaea and Leicester Faingaanuku to name a few.
From memory all of the above stood out more than Naholo when they played the Aussie Schools.
