@duluth
Covington and Whittaker have been suggested but id like to see covington take makachev for a no.1 contender. Covington is clearly the smaller of the welterweights. and id love to see and american wrestling vs sambo fight.I dont see covington going anywhere at middleweight.
Mcgegor - Jorge would be a huge Payday.

@Duluth You might be interested in the Eugene Bareman episode on Tana's podcast.
Eugene's really impressive. I think this would rank as the best interview I've heard with him.

@dice Thanks for that, it was interesting
Bareman is a lot better in long form interviews. He's not concise and takes a while to get to his point. Which isn't great for most media interviews
He does give some decent interviews to "CombatTV" and "It's time for sports" both on youtube. That second channel is run by Christopher Reive the NZHerald journalist. He deserves credit as being one of the few mainstream journalists in NZ that does good MMA coverage

Great night of fights this past weekend
Some top finishes

I finally saw last weekends fights. Hill’s KO was special
Sorry late to the thread.
The classic boxing 1-2 but it looked appallingly executed. How that actually knocked old mate out is anyones guess……

Yeah but still looked like one of those shitty unco punches that are more likely to break your wrist than do the recipient any damage.
In other words what I throw on the bag at home.

@mn5 it's an over hand and they're both coming in so the range is off.
Johny walkers head is suspect for sure -

Johny walkers head is suspect for sureYeah people don’t realise how hard it can be to perfect the timing of the landing of a punch that’s for sure and not knowing either of these guys particularly well it does look like Walkers head is glass like.

Good event this weekend, the first London card for 3 years. I'll be cheering for every Brit apart from Allen
I like Volkov but I hope Aspinall puts on a dominant performance. I'm hoping the HW division evolves and better athletes like Aspinall, Gane and maybe Jones are at the top. Aspinall has crazy speed for his size
Allen is a good challenge for Hooker back at 145lbs. Hooker is confident it's his correct weight
That frame in that division, with the additional experience he has now.. he should go wellHype vid:

It’ll be interesting to see how he is tomorrow
The test cut he did a couple of months was easy according to him. Maybe the travel has had an impact? In his previous stint at 145 he generally would look rough at weigh in
-
Weird fight from Hooker. When he first got struck he just stayed in range. He had plenty of room to backup and recover. After that he was just hanging on.
Did he think he needed a brawl and an early win?
Great card so far. Go Aspinall
-
Best card in ages
Fucking brilliant top to bottom
Best Show In Town
-
Been a fan of Aspinall for a wee while. Seems to be very level headed. Lightening fast and has a super well rounded game. I think he's really what everyone was hoping Gane was. A complete figter. I have no doubt this guy will be the future of the division.
-
I think Hooker is drinking too much of his own coolade. He's seen as this ready to go tough guy. Much like Cowboy was. But he's not good enough to be that guy. He needs to cool it with all the undefeated up and comers. He could still carve out a good finish to his career with taking similarly skilled fighters to himself. A few must see wars. I think his fight with DP has given him the idea he's elite.

Kai Kara-France is fighting Askarov later today
Askarov is deservedly a big favourite. He's been consistent in the UFC and hasn't been beaten yet.
KKF is improving and has hands that can stop the fight
Winner should get the next title shot
-
Kai fights in a few mins (on espn)
-
Fuck yeah!
Kai is improving so fast. Great wrestling defence

Volkanovski v Zombie
Sterling v Yan
Burns v Chimaev
Dern v Torres
Pichel v MadsenGarry v Weeks
Rozenstruik v Tybura
Ladd v Pennington
Gall v MalottClear favourites according to the odds in the last three fights. I agree with the markets regarding the results.. I'm surprised by how lopsided they are
Big fight for Gall on the undercard. He hasn't any momentum in the UFC yet and is danger of getting cut. Malott is highly rated and looked good on the contender series

Chimaev has a chin that's for sure
Bullshit judging.
Split at best and could easily have gone Gilbert's way.
Chimaev needs to rethink his ego. Should have gone to ground more.
Sterling is legit. Very surprised.
Volk was a machine.
-
@mikethesnow I think Yan won, but Sterling fought a much better fight. Yan is technically the best fighter in mma love watching him

10-8 round swung it for Sterling.
Yan got dominated on the floor.
-
@mikethesnow yea round 2 could be a 10 8 but not round 3. That would be a draw though on my cards haha
Round 2 sterling did damage and threatened alot round 3 was more just control time. Round 1 was the decider and 2 gave it to sterling.

Last weekend was pretty good for fighters named after Mike Tyson. Tyson Pedro made his injury comeback and looked sharp. A lot of feints and he used the leg kicks well
Apparently he’s moving across the Ta$man to fully link up with CKB
-
-
These are likely more wrong than normal. This might be a shocker.. I've gone for every male underdog
Oliveira v Gaethje
Rose v Esparza
Chandler v Ferguson
Rua v OSP
Cerrone v LauzonOliveira is on a great run and he has more ways of finishing the fight. He's been rocked in all his recent wins but recovered well.. I think he gets rocked again and Gaethje will finish it
Rose to keep the fight standing and outclass Carla
Ferguson. Picking with heart over head? Probably? Tony is hard to KO and I think his durability, then cardio, gets it done
Picking against OSP's mentality here. He has a lot of below par performances
Cowboy & Joe both have shitty recent record. Picking against Cerrone's chin.
Randy Brown v Khaos Williams on the prelims might be fight of the night
-
Also NZer Genah Fabian is fighting in the PFL on Sat (it's on sky)
She looked good last year until she came up against Harrison. However she's has missed weight today
-
Shit that was a clean front kick. Chandler with a great KO. Ferguson had him rocked in the first round
Ferguson has taken a lot of damage in his last few fights.. Despite him looking good in the first round, it might be time to retire. He’s a long long way from a title shot now
-
Rose v Carla was a dud
I scored it 48-47 Carla (hard to score most rounds though)
Poor work by the corner. Trevor & Pat gave terrible instructions.. Rose thought she was winning
-
-
Charles keeps getting rocked in these fights and recovering. Amazing
