Must say it's great having Leeds in the top flight. Love their high pressure style of football they play too. Their defence is very leaky despite their clean sheet against Sheffield Utd but they're very entertaining to watch.
-
Leicester vs City was unbelievable. Basically City went 1 nil up with ease, and then Vardy started to make every touch a winner. Two won penalties and a beautiful little clip for a well-earned hat trick. Maddison then kicked an absolute screamer.
Game ended 5-2 to leave Leicester top of the heap.
If you don't have any skin in the game, it's hard to not to feel something for Leicester. Fantastic team & Rogers has them humming.

@MajorRage I've grown to like Rodgers these days. I couldn't stand him at Liverpool with the rubbish he used to talk how bad his sides used to look when Suarez wasn't around. The spell he had at Celtic has done him good.

I didn't mind him at Liverpool, as one of the 5 people who don't support them. All jokes aside though, he got that job too early. He's been going great guns since he left. Don't think he has the charisma required to be at the very top level clubs.
-
Everton looked to have made some astute changes in the off season, Rodriguez in particular looking right at home in the EPL. Might give a few of the top teams a few headaches, although still early.
-
@MajorRage Yeah it very rarely works when big clubs get managers from smaller clubs. He refused to sort out their defense at the time, keeping Mignolet instead of finding someone better and using Gerrard as a defensive midfielder.
@bayimports hiring a world class manager has certainly helped their cause. Allan is for me, their best signing despite everyone going on about Rodriguez. He was a key player for Napoli under Ancelotti along with Koulibaly and covers every blade of grass, certainly one of the best at protecting his backline in Serie A and I think he'll suit the EPL.

Best day for a villa fan in a long time. Crazy defensive tactics from Klopp it must be said when we have Watkins, Barkley, Grealish and McGinn who love to push forward from midfield. The high line from Liverpool was a disaster today.

Fair play to Van Dijk for fronting the media straight afterwards. I respect that.
Liverpool were all over the show at the back.
-
The high line isn't the problem - allowing opposition midfielders time and space to pick a pass is the problem. Liverpool and City play in this way and it is the pressing of the players ahead that enables to defence to play suicidally high. If the press falls apart for whatever reason, you've got statues on the half way line and runners pouring through.

Only a few hours left in the transfer window if you are looking to Spain and France.
I haven't seen anything major being done yet, Telles to United is confirmed, haven't seen Cavani confirmed yet and Chris Smalling has gone to Roma.

@KiwiPie A lot of action as the deadline approached.
@Hooroo We've signed Thomas Partey which was one of Arteta's 2 main midfield targets. Hopefully he is the DM needed.
Is it now confirmed? I saw we triggered the release clause but I didn;'t think it had been sewn up,
Great news

Ain't nothing like a Thomas Partey Party
Cavani now confirmed - reputedly 200K pounds per week. Which apparently is the same as Rashford and less than Martial. United apparently spend 500K per week just on their 2 goalkeepers. Maguire 189K per week which is a lot for what is basically a fridge rental.
