@KiwiPie Still a nice gesture, even if a token effort, don't see anyone else reaching in..
I was born cynical. I am still constantly amazed how much money players can earn even when not being selected. Their agents do a great job on their behalf.
https://www.sportekz.com/football/liverpool-players-salaries/
Liverpool would have forked out more than a million pounds in salaries to those that played to watch that shit show at the weekend!
This is an interesting list - cannot guarantee the accuracy - it has Mane level with Drinkwater which is all sorts of wrong. Get a transfer to a big 6 team and you're set up for life even if you're never selected.
Top 20 for Salary - my own asterisks to indicate KP's view on terrible value for money! Some yet to be proven either way. A plus for the ones who earned their coin in recent times.
De Gea *
De Bruyne +
Sterling +
Pogba *
Ozil *
Aubameyang +
Martial
Aguero
Salah +
Rashford
Kane +
Ndombele *
Willian
Chilwell
Lacazette
Firmino +
Werner
Van Dijk +
Maguire *
Mata *Wow! Is that the first time a Goalkeeper has been top? I don't really need an answer but just surprised.

@Hooroo no way a keeper should be the best paid. Brilliant bit of business on his part
if i remember rightly, right about when that contract was signed, he was the difference between them being pretty good and relegation fodder. His shot stopping was unreal
of course it almost immediately fell off a cliff. but the papers were already signed
Man U do so much bad business these days.

@Hooroo De Gea's agent must have done some great negotiating when he had a move lined up to Real Madrid.
This was yet another panic move by Man U. De Gea had all the leverage because of his form at that time but his chance of going to RM ended once Courtois beat him to it.

They don't seem to be focussing on needs

Proposal to cut the Premier League from 20 down to 18.

And the top 6 want to take voting control of the EPL (instead of the current one team one vote system) in exchange for sharing 25% of the TV money with the lower leagues. Feels like a bribe to take control in advance of playing an expanded European club schedule in a couple of years, and an attempt by the top 6 to safeguard their positions and influence. If their motives were more genuine they would simply share the money with the EFL with no strings

Another absolute belting weekend in the EPL. It seems for all the crowds add to the game, they reduce the quality of the football - or at least the defending.
Merseyside derby: 2-2. Couple of VAR decisions went against Liverpool here, the injury time winner a real tough one to swallow. Salah screamer of a goal & horror injury to Van Dijk will see him out for a while. Pickford arguably to blame.
Chelsea Southampton: 3-3 ... real ebb and flow game, double for Chelsea new signing Werner, one absolute quality finish. Some horror defending from Chelease though
Spurs Westham: 3-3 ... Spurs out of the blocks for 3-0 in first 15 minutes, Kane assist and 2 goals. Kane also hits the post and Bale misses a sitter too. 10 minutes to go ... one for West Ham ... Two for west ham (own goal) ... then last kick an absolute screamer from Manzini for the draw (5 yards outside the box, huge huge bend on it).
Amazing comp so far this year.

I wonder what is the worst start to the Championship? I see Wycombe have had six starts for six losses and have score one goal
Wycombe are a real lower league club that sneaked into the championship with the abrupt ending to last season and they don't have any money to strengthen.
I can't seem to find any stats on starts to a season outside the premier league but the record for most consecutive defeats is 18 in the late 1890s by Darwen (my grandparents lived in Darwen) and most without a win is 38 by Derby County - good targets for Wycombe.

I did that post knowing that you would be the one to come in with the best knowledge/research for which I am grateful! Cheers

You know me so well! Strangely Wycombe have lost every game but aren't bottom of the table.
The not winning run for Derby is relatively recently - imagine supporting a team home and away and not seeing a single league victory for a whole year. (Northland and Southland fans can relate)

holy shit, Man U beat PSG. This year is so fucking weird.
