We're so fucked. For so long.

The DeShaun Watson thing is crazy. I can't remember the last time a player decided not to practice outside of a holdout. Just totally insane and the Brown have no leverage at all. Burrows slow start kind of shows what can happen if someone tries to force themselves back too fast, but if this goes on much longer I suspect that their legal team will start scouring the contract to see if there is any way out for them.

Purdy's first loss when he starts and finishes a game. Looked rocky as well.
This 49ers team is a monster when they're up, but maybe some signs of vulnerability if they get behind? Saw a stat that prior to this game they'd be behind on the scoreboard for less than 2 minutes.
Some key injuries didn't help though.

Niners and Eagles go down on the same day.

Jets were 0-12 against the eagles in the regular season coming into this game. Their top 3 corners were all injured and we're relying on a practice squad corner with a single career start. Defence still came up with 3 picks and held eagles scoreless in the second half.
Through 6 games this season I think they've only allowed one second half touchdown. This defence is good everywhere and deep everywhere. The Jets had one of the hardest opening schedules and it will soften considerably from here. On the other hand, their two easiest opponents so far (pats and broncos, contenders for worst team in the league) have been ugly performances. This team feels like it plays to the level of it's opposition. Bye next week and then a rubbish Giants team. Will be a good test of whether this win gives the momentum to go on a run or whether they're a mediocre team with an elite defence that's always going to be competitive but their offensive misfires prevent them from winning consistently.
-
Probably would, and even if he wasn't top 10 anymore, he's probably good enough still.
He was moving freely on the sideline today - even threw a few passes. I don't believe for a second that he's back this season, but he clearly seems to. Imagine scraping in as a wild card and being able to bring Rodgers back from IR.

First half of MNF is fucking dire. Flags, and shit offence

Interestingly I think all time Kyle Shanahan vs Cleveland Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz his record is now 1 win 9 losses. Schwartz has the secret source to stop the Shanahan offense.

Never really got into NFL but have a trip to the US early next month to Chicago for a conference. Staying around for an extra two days and one night there is Bears vs Panthers. Two shit teams by the sounds of things but given I supported the warriors in the nrl since day dot that shouldn't be an issue to handle.
Looking to make the most out of the experience. What's the deal with tailgating? Can you just rock up to where one is and have a look? Does everyone keep to themselves or what?
Will likely be going alone which im not worried about and google says best way to get better tickets is last minute on stubhub etc. Is there a huge drop off in experience from the most bleeds section to the middle tier section? I'm thinking in places like suncorp stadium there aren't many bad seats in the stadium for viewing experience.
Sincerely the bears newest fan.

no idea, i am just jealous

lo scoring league this year. Teams are not giving up the deep ball, so offence has turned in to a slog. Unless you are the Dolphins, but even a lot of their yards are catch and run.
QBs are having to earn their money. O-lines are under pressure as QBs need more and more time. Lots of short yardage plays. Lots of run.
Sport always finds a way to swing back if you give it time.

@Magpie_in_aus I would recommend going on a Bears internet forum or their Reddit page and asking - they will be more than helpful. Typically tailgating they are very welcoming to new people. Given Soldier Field's location so close to the city i'm not sure how big tailgating scene is but definitely worth asking. You could also ask them about tickets. Soldier field is on the smaller side of NFL stadiums so I reckon you would be fine with waiting until later on (i.e. even the nosebleeds aren't that far away - particularly with Panthers being a non-rival and relatively bad team.

Interesting weekend of results. 49ers lose again to slip to 5-2. Purdy struggling again when the 49ers are behind and he's forced to try and create.
Meanwhile, the dolphins lose to the eagles to drop to 5-2. Notably, they're 0-2 against teams with a winning record - are they as good as they've looked or are they a mirage propped up by a soft early schedule? I think they're not as good as they've looked early on, but are genuine contenders. AFC East is suddenly wide open with the bills dropping a game against the pats as well.
The AFC north might be the best division in Football. Bengals are last with. 3-3 record. Browns might have the best defence in the league if only they could get some consistent QB play to go with it.
Broncos even got a win. Jordan Love came storming out of the blocks but is falling back. After 40 years of HOF calibre QB play will the Packers finally feel the pain of a QB hunt?

God it was just an awful game, make no mistake, we fucking suck.
Niners losing today to Prime Time Kirk a pretty big shock.
The Bills dropping a game to the Patriots is the other shock you missed.
Oh, and the previously flying Lions getting smacked by the RavensI feel like it's the Chiefs' to lose. They have a better defence than last year, and still have Mahomes.
There are a LOT of flawed teams this year -
@mariner4life Cousins made some seriously good throws.
How the Vikes have no running game astonishes me. They sucked.
Pats played well - I saw most of redzone, was good fun. NFL is great to watch this year I reckon
