After "Quarterbacks" it was supposed to be her turn!

Basically a quarter of the way through the season, and it feels like there are not many good teams.
The Niners are fucking flying, and will never haver a better chance than this year. CMC is ridiculous. They are putting up 30 points a week, the defense is still excellent.
The Eagles are the only other unbeaten side, but haven't been anywhere near as convincing.
Below them are a bunch of good but not great 3-1 teams.
And like a quarter of the Conference straight up stinkOn the other side the Chiefs are 3-1 but aren't exactly on fire. Mahomes is Mahomes but their receiver class is pretty average. The Ravens and Bills are a scratchy 3-1 as well, and it drops away to some pretty ordinary sides after that
The Bengals are 1-3 and looking fucking terrible. And again, a good 25-30% of the teams in the Conference stink. We seem to be at a tipping point. QB play was everything, offence was the best form of defense, and it was all about scoring. Coaches worked that out, and now defenses have caught up. Corners get better every year, and suddenly down field is not as open. And D-lines have got better and better, meaning it's not just pressure from elite edge rushers, pressure is coming from everywhere. And the QBs are paying the price.
Daniel Jones is in the gun for it at the moment. His o-line is wet paper bag weak, he has 2-4 guys in his face every single play. And because he is not Brady or Mahomes, he gets sacked. A lot. Or fumbles. Now, some of that is absolutely on him, he's got a deer-in-the-headlights look on his face and he's freezing. But shit, when you are getting rushed over and over and over, the fuck is he supposed to do? I watched yesterday, and he's looking downfield and nothing is open, then he's got to get rid of it because the protection has collapsed.
But Giants fans are basically saying he needs to get fired. For who? Who exactly is going to do a better job?All these QBs that got paid this offseason might be thanking their lucky stars, because if defense and the run game come back, economics might change again.

Yeah some of the vision of Jones is staggering, his O-line may as well not be there. Fields in Chicago is the same.
Whereas you watch Lamar and he could cook dinner behind his line. Same with Purdy.
Be interesting to see which teams look to pull the pin and start tanking for the good QB class in the next draft. Could see the Raiders doing it, or Minnesota, or Tennessee.
Surprised and happy to see the Rams doing well, Stafford is a baller. And liking the look of CJ Stroud in Houston. Arizona hanging in there as well. There are no out and out terrible teams, just a boatload of mediocre ones.

Bears are there. And Broncos. They are stinking up the joint.
Cardinals and Dobbs are the big surprise for me- they looked to be a contendor for first pick, but are really playing some hard football.
There's some damn good fun games to watch at the moment. I'm really enjoying it

Broncos
I'm not so sure. We suck, we're not tanking. And QB play is absolutely not the problem. Our defense straight up fucking stinks.
Consider, we lost to the Raiders by a point, scored 16
Then we lost to Washington by 2, but scored 33
Then we lost to Miami by 50, but scored 20
This week we won against Chicago by 3, and scored 31For is a respectable 100, against is a far less acceptable 150
(league-wide that's 10th for scoring, last for defense)I can't see where we start tanking for a QB. I think we gave away all our picks anyway.
-
@mariner4life fair.
Not tanking, but getting 70 dropped on you, followed by letting the goddamn Bears score 28 in two quarters means it's going to be a long season.

so very very long
lucky our coach doesn't have a big dumb unlikable mouth that he has been spouting off aye?

@mariner4life Niners-Cowboys this coming week on Sunday Night Football I think will be telling.
Neither team has played a tough schedule so far.
Dallas' defense has been excellent at generating turnovers meanwhile 49ers offense hasn't turned the ball over. Something has to give.
Conversely - 49ers defense has been good but hasn't been generating many sacks yet with new defensive coordinator Wilks.
Something tells me Cowboys may sneak this one as it feels like a game they've been targetting all offseason after 49ers have knocked them out in the playoffs 2 years in a row. Hope i'm wrong.
-
I'll believe in the Cowboys approximately an hour after they have won the Superbowl, and not a minute before.

Niners should be too good. They've got a class edge and I think this is the game they stamp their Superbowl credentials.
It's such an injury league though - one or two key losses, and it's back into the pack.
