You gotta wonder whether the Bills minds were in the right place given what had happened and how that game played out.
Things get tougher now though. Allen's cap hit almost doubles next year. Obviously there are options to shift than but that just means pushing it in to later years.
In reality the cap doesn't cost teams their star players but the quality of depth players and lower level starters which means teams become top heavy and get that Jekyll/Hyde dynamic where they're reliant on two or three players and if even one of them has an off night the whole team can break down.

Cripes that 49ers game took years off of my life.
Two elite defenses going at it.
Cowboys dominated the line of scrimmage in the first half but as the second half rolled on the 49ers began to dominate those areas.
Eagles will be a huge challenge but have to enjoy eliminating the Cowboys.

So Frank Reich goes to the panthers. For a guy who just left a team with a shitty quarterback situation, he hasn't really chosen a great landing spot but head coaches who got sacked midseason can't be too fussy.
Jets announce Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator. An interesting choice given that he had Russell Wilson this year and couldn't make it work.
Lots of speculation that this is a sign that the Jets are making a serious run at Rodgers. I don't buy that. At least I don't buy that this move is specifically for that. Firstly, all the same rumours were flowing last season when Hackett was hired by the Broncos and nothing came of it. Secondly, Hackett has worked with Saleh in the past so I suspect that they see something in him. I don't know what it is, other than being lucky enough to be coordinater to a first ballot hall of fame QB.
That said, I do think the Jets are in on Rodgers though. I suspect that they have three plans. One is is Rodgers, one is Derek Carr and one is a veteran free agent (Jacoby Brissett maybe). I expect them to leak all three stories a bit over the next few weeks to try and maximize leverage for whichever of those is plan A. Probably Carr.
Looks like Mike Lefleur, the Jets sacked OC is going to land Sean McVay's OC job. That means he'll have had a senior role in both Shanahan and McVay's organisation and virtually guarantee him a shot at a HC role if McVay can get the Rams to bounce back next year.
Broncos, Cards, Colts and Texans all still open, Sean Payton to Broncos was the hotness for a minute but that's cooling. The saints own his rights and were apparently asking for a lot.
I wonder if this is Eric Bienemy's year.

If he doesn't get a chance something stinks

Blow the whistle, this one is over. 4th & 2 and you run that play? Yeah nah. His elbow is cooked and he can’t throw it. Shame about the injuries.
Lessssgoooooo Eagles

Brutal for the 49ers to lose both QBs to injury. There defence collapsed too - lots of stupid penalties and mental errors. Dunno if that was a result of the pressure from the scoreboard and missing QBs or the occasion (or maybe a bit of everything).
There used to be a rule that you could dress a third QB without it being counted against your active roster. I wonder if they bring that rule back after this.
Playoffs have been a bit disappointing this year, lots of blow outs. Hopefully Bengals-Chiefs is better.

I think if Purdy stays healthy 49ers win that game.
Eagles defence is well known but I think our underrated offensive line creates massive problems for opposition defences. Would’ve been closer…

Aside from the first drive (which Eagles got lucky with an incomplete pass being missed by the refs/cameras/49ers failing to challenge) the 49ers defensive line was outplaying the Eagles O line for most of the rest of the half.

The defence gradually lost it under the weight of having to carry the offence without a properly functioning QB

My two teams at the start of the season were Chiefs (head) and Giants (heart). Hopefully the Chiefs can finish the job in what will be renowned as 'Kelce' bowl in a couple weeks.

What did everyone think of the refereeing in that one. Some tough calls on the Bengals I thought.

Very tough calls.
It boggles my mind that NFL referees aren't full time.
The league prints money - crazy that there aren't full time refs.

A few really rough calls.
That was a super tight game. Took the last second dead ball foul to avoid OT. Both teams very good, Bengals O line looked like I feared it might last week.
Burrow and Mahomes are generational talents. And it was great entertainment

lol, fuck
So the Broncos have hired Sean Payton
And it cost us (the fucking Saints just got a first round pick for a retired coach, what a gip). Considering all the first round picks we have given up for Wilson and Payton, if this doesn't work (and quite frankly that's an enormous if given the Chiefs and Chargers exist) the team is fuuuuucked.
I have read the Broncos actually wanted DeMeco Ryans but he chose the Texans, so we paid what the Saints wanted.

@mariner4life The Chargers will be looking for their own new coach within the next 12 months i'd say. Brandon Staley is a fraud.
I think Broncos can quickly bounce back with an experienced offensive coach at the helm. He even did well at the Saints once Brees was shot/retired.
