How much did Amazon pay for Thursday night football again? They don't care of course, but this is awful. I think being injured for the eagles superbowl run was the best thing that ever happened to Wentz.

Don't look now, but the Jets might be a team this year. Just beat the Packers comfortably enough that they pulled Rodgers late in the fourth. First non-playoff home loss for the Packers since 2020.

    A couple of thoughts.
Rodgers is done. At least at Green Bay. He's no longer good enough to lift the team on his back. Either retirement or time for his late career mercenary phase. More on that in a moment.
The Jets run game is legit. They had a 60 yard drive to the seal the game running on every play. The Packers knew it was coming and couldn't stop it. They didn't punch it in for the TD but ahead 14 and with the chip shot field goal, eating the clock up was probably a better result anyway.
Zach Wilson has taken a step forward. He's still not ready to be a franchise QB but he's not a liability anymore. If the defence wants to stack the box and stop the run, he's good enough to take the opportunities that leaves in the secondary.

There are a few destinations that would be intriguing for Rodgers. The dolphins and the 49ers are both a QB away from being legit contenders, but both claim to have faith in their rookies. Haven't looked at cap or trade resources so might be unworkable that way. The Colts would also become overnight contenders, although their wr corps isn't quite as strong so might not appeal as much.

@Cyclops The NFC is really weird. There's only 4 teams with a winning record and 3 of them are in the same division.

Yeah it's all over the place this year. Certainly feels like the AFC is stronger and it's tempting to say that the AFC championship game will be tougher than the Superbowl, but people have made that prediction before (for both conferences) and at least one or two NFC teams come right by the end of the season.

I've discovered that one of the 'perks' of a London game is getting to choose your next week match up. So you can request a bye or any of the other teams on your schedule. Makes it even funnier than the Packers specifically choose the Jets for that match up and still got blown out.

If the Bills cannot win a Superbowl this year, then they may never win one

49ers trade with the Panthers for RB Christian McCaffrey

It's a big swing - if (big if) McCaffrey can stay healthy he's a perfect scheme fit.

I'm ok with it - NFC West division is very winnable - go all in.

It comes full circle - McCaffrey's dad Ed played for Kyle Shanahan's old man Mike the last time 49ers won the Super Bowl.

It's too tight a league to be confident. But they look very good... Before injuries and cold weather hits

It's probably too high a price in the long term but as you say, the NFC is wide open and they're one of the best defences in the league so if this pushes their offence over the edge it's pretty worthwhile. Going to be a tough off-season though, lots of free agents, bugger all draft picks and a tough cap situation.

Yeah I think one of the toughest things in the NFL is finding that balance between getting better now and getting better in the future, but this definitely feels like the right spot to gamble some future gains for right now.

    the crazy season continues

In a division containing the Rams, the Niners and the Cards, and with Geno Smith at QB, the Seahawks are leading

there are a LOT of teams just over or just under .500 win percentages.

Denver have a defense that gives up like 16 points a game. And still can't win. FMD. they are 2-5 and their points diff is -15

@mariner4life not the best suite of matchups this weekend.

But still - Mahomes is some cheat code. Ridiculous. Geno Smith is on a tear, was kind of fun. Mondays off to watch NFL is great.

Thursday night football was a cripple fight ... kind of fun but you hate yourself a bit

Thursday night football has been dire this year and probably not going to get much better. Don't see too many games coming up that look like can't miss matchups.

I see we have bears pats on Monday night football. That also promises to be a pretty dour encounter. Stats this year (so far) are scoring down, QB play down. Wonder if that's a trend or an anomaly.

Christian McCaffrey becomes the first player since 2005 to run for a TD, throw for a TD and catch a TD in the same game.

With Deebo out CMC took on the mantle of being the Rams destroyer.

Huge win for the 49ers who have a chance to get a few starters back healthy with a bye coming up.

    The NFL is never dull.

A number of trades at the deadline this week.

    • DL Robert Quinn to the Eagles
    • LB Roquan Smith to the Ravens
    • DL Bradley Chubb to the Dolphins
    • WR Calvin Ridley to the Jaguars.

In addition Dan Snyder has made some moves indicating he is looking to sell the Washington Commanders. Commanders fans are hoping this is true.

Busiest deadline in a while. Kind of reflects a league where there are a couple of front runners and then a massive pile of teams that are in the picture. Everyone is talking themselves into thinking that they're a piece or two away from a playoff run.

Gee, I knew Goldie was versatile: Rugby, Cricket, Basketball. But I never thought I'd see him play for the Miami Dolphins.

Is the AFC East the toughest division in football right now? Bills 6-2, Dolphins and Jets both 6-3 and the pats are 5-4. Both of the Bills loses are to division rivals.

Dolphins might have the most dangerous passing attack with Waddle and Hill, the Jets defence is ferocious with three top 15 corners and one of the best defensive line groups in the league. The Bills need no introduction and Bill Bellicheck is propping up the table (with a winning record no less).

Probably a bit too close to call between the NFC East and the two west divisions. Man there are some brutal divisions this year.

Frank Reich gets fire by Indy and they replace him with.... Jeff Saturday??!!! The guy has zero coaching experience at any level. Many coaches toiling in the league must be wondering who they have to kill to get a shot. I'm looking at you Eric Bieneimy....

loool NFL teams don't even play on Saturday, what a dumb hire

I just read that there is now no one on the coaching staff that has ever called plays in the NFL.
