Just one more from me about Baby face Pickerell ( decides that makes him sound like the criminal he is)
I expect to not see him officiate next week. If he gets another game then the ref assessors should be sacked. Big screwups two weeks in a row should mean go to jail, do not pass go!
I think we can all agree that the NZ refs are crap. Williams the best of a very average group.
You reckon the Sky producer was a Blues fan too? Interesting what replays weren't shown.

Remind me who is the referee manager these days?

There's basically no replays this season. Irritating for anoraks, but good for the game I think- not poring over every call and lambasting the ref

@Nepia And when are going to get 50 or 60 frames per second coverage!
That would be nice. Although, for 2 weekends I was watching rugby at 720p because Kayo reset itself to "HD", I saw the setting and just assumed HD would include 1080p, but nope, you have to set "auto" to get 1080.

The Blues are no longer the easy beats of the NZ franchises.
They have developed a close team comradeship that puts the defence of their line a top priority. They fight for each other, and results are forthcoming. No way are they the complete deal yet ,but boy do they fight.,and from time to time thrill us with class tries.Enjoy it Blues fans,I am. -

There are more replays on TV than at the ground.
Are there? The lack of replays in rugby coverage is one of the biggest first world bugbears for me at the moment.
Yes. The big screens are used for entertainment purposes as much as replays at the ground, at least in SRA at the moment. Maybe it's all part of cost-cutting by Sky and NZR, although the former flies a dozen "experts" to games each week.

I think my point is there's barely any replays now on the TV coverage, so that would basically equate to none ever at the ground.

Still no idea what BP pulled out of his arse at the end there, but goddamn I'll take it. Was reflecting on the game last year or the year before in Hamilton, where we won 4-5 scrum penalties on teh bounce with no card or other sanction. Referee bottled it there too, but we just weren't good enough to do anything with it.
Despite having the possession and territory, the Chiefs couldn't get it done- so while the call at the end was poor, it wasn't the game

@trodthesod Well said. Defence is an attitude thing and we are showing plenty of grit in that area. As you said, there's loads of fight in this side but plenty to improve on.

It’s a big positive for me, we have plenty to improve on but because the defence and set pieces are working so well we are still winning close games.
They attack has not clicked at all except for the odd moment.

Newshub say:
They seemed to have achieved that in the dying moments, when No.8 Pita Gus Sowakula dove for the line, but was ruled to have knocked on and the Blues won a clearing penalty. -

Good defence.
